Weeks after fighting side by side in the same front…Tahrir Al-Sham attacks one of the strongest rebel factions operating in the fronts of the northern countryside of Hama and Idlib countryside

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent fighting in the fronts of the north-western countryside of Hama, between Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham against the fighters of Jaysh Al-Nasr, and a number of the intersected sources confirmed to the SOHR that the fighting started as a result of an attack by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham on the headquarters of Jaysh Al-Nasr in Qalaat al-Madiq area, which is located on the administrative border between Hama and Idlib countryside, and the reliable sources confirmed to the SOHR that the fighting started just before the midnight of Tuesday – Wednesday, and lasted for hours then it had stopped before it raged again this dawn and it is still continuing until now.

This fighting which Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham started by its attack on the headquarters of Jaysh Al-Nasr which takes part in the clashes in Idlib and Hama countryside, raged the resentment and the anger of the residents of the both provinces, and the residents accused the members of Tahrir Al-Sham exploited the violent fighting in the fronts against the regime forces and their allies, and the involvement of Jaysh Al-Nasr in it, to attack the headquarters of the faction, in order to weaken it and distract it away the ongoing fighting on the border of Idlib with Hama, while Jaysh Al-Nasr discharged the commander of its special task battalion on charge of “violating instructions issued by the General Command”, and the sources told the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the commander of this battalion was accused by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham that he “smuggled spirituous liquors and facilitated passing them from the controlled areas of the factions to the regime-held areas and vice versa and some of those who were arrested by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham confessed that they got spirituous liquors through the commander of the special task battalion of Jaysh Al-Nasr”, and the clashes were accompanied by exchange of targeting between the both parties, and the SOHR learned that Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham managed during its attack in Qalaat al-Madiq, to advance at the expense of Jaysh Al-Nasr, and it took the control of the area, it is noteworthy that Tahrir Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-Nasr participated side by side in the fronts of Hama and Idlib provinces, after the regime forces started their attack on the 22nd of October 2017, through which the regime forces managed to achieve great advancement in the area.
