​Minister of Defense leave office after he failed to restore control of his hometown in the countryside of Hama

Minister of Defense in the Syrian regime, Fahd Jassim Al-Farij, leaves office by presidential decree and General Ali Ayoub is appointed as the new Minister of Defense

Fahd Jassim Al-Farij was appointed by a similar decree in the mid of July 2012, following an explosion targeted “the crisis cell” which claimed the lives of several figures of the Syrian regime, including General Dawood Rajha, the Minister of Defense at that time. Al-Farij remained in his position where he has witnessed the military incidents in the Syrian ground including consecutive losses and the increasing restoration of controls by the regime and their allies which has reached about 55.8% of the Syrian territory with an area of 103218 square kilometers of the Syrian geographical area, until he left the office on the first of January 2017.

The former Minister of Defense Fahd Al-Farij from office, who comes from the northeast of Hama, got dismissed from office after the regime forces failed many times to restore the hometown of the Minister of Defense, Fahd Al-Farij, the town of Al-Rahjan, located in the northeastern countryside of Hama, the, which came out of the regime’s control in the mid of July 2014, where it was controlled by Al-Nusra Front (al-Qaeda organization in the Levant) at that time.
