Warplanes carry out a new massacre in the countryside of Idlib killing 5 children and women

Idlib province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: warplanes targeted places in Khan Al-Subul town located in the southern countryside of Idlib afternoon of the 2nd of January 2018,  which caused a massacre that claimed the lives of at least 7 martyrs including 5 children and 2 women, and the shelling left several people injured, which may increase the death toll, in addition to the material damage to the properties of citizens, while warplanes carried out more raids on the clash areas in the southeastern countryside of Idlib, in addition to airstrikes targeting the vicinity of tanks and the outskirts of Al-Habit town in the southern countryside, and the pace of clashes declined in Umm al-Khalakhil in the southeastern countryside of Idlib between the regime forces and their allied militiamen against the factions and Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham, the town was controlled by the regime forces hours ago  and the death of a leader in a rebel faction was killed during clashes with the regime forces in the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the violent fighting is continuing between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the rebel and Islamic factions, in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, as a result of the ongoing attack by the regime forces led by the Brigadier in the regime forces, Suhail Al-Hassan, known as the “Tiger”, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces managed to achieve advancement in the area and they took the control of 2 new villages they are Umm Al-Khalayil and Niha, hours after taking the control of the villages of Zarzur and Sham Al-Hawa, near the important village of al-Khwyn, in which this advancement allowed the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them to increase their scope of control in Idlib, and to increase the number of the villages they have controlled since the start of their attack on the 22nd of October 2017, in which they controlled 65 towns, villages and areas, which are “Umm Al-Khalayil, Niha, Zarzur, Sham Al-Hawa, al-Khwyn, Al-Salumiya, Al-Jadu’eiyah, Tel Za’atar, Atshan, Tel Maraq, Abu Omar, Al-Nasriya, Al-Hamdaniya, and its station, Abu Dali, Umm Haratin, Tel Tawila Mohamoud, Ras Al-Ain, Tel Aswad, Qabibat, Um Al-Huda,  al-Hawiyyah, Al-Rweideh, al-Syriatel Hill, Al-Shatib, Al-Zafriyyah, Al-Blil, Um Khazim, Um Trikiyyeh, Rajm al-Ahmar, Al-Shahatiyyah, Al-Mestriha, Jub Abyad, Rasm Abu Mayyal, RasmAl-Sawwan, Rasm Al-Sawi, Rasm Al-Ahmar, Rasm Al-Tina, Abu Laffah, Al-Mshirfah, Jwi’eid, Hasrat, Khirbat Al-Rahjan, Hasnawi, Mweileh Shamali, Qasr Ali , Qasr Shawi, Tal Mahsar, Al-Rabiaa, Duma, Rabda, Hazem, Arafa, Mrijeb al-Jamlan, Al-Khefyeh, Sham Al Hawa, Al Rahraha, Sarha, Abu Al-Gher, Hasnawi and Baghidid, and Mrijeb al-Jamlan. In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes carried out raids targeted areas in Tahtaya and Maar Hattat towns, areas in Haymaniyah village, other places in Al-Tah town, as well as areas in villages in Sinjar Township in the eastern section of Idlib countryside, amid intensive exchange of shelling on the clash areas between the both parties, in which the regime forces aim to force the factions to withdraw from the areas where the regime forces are working on advancing in them, taking the control and holding their control over them before the factions have the chance to carry out any counter attacks, and the SOHR monitored during 8 days of intensive shelling, more than 1458 shells and missiles, about 396 raids carried out by the warplanes, and more than 609 explosive barrels dropped by the helicopters, the number of raids, barrels and shells which the regime forces carried out, dropped and fired on the areas of Umm Al-Khalayil, Zarzur, Sham Al-Hawa, Sukayk, Al-Taman’aa, Khan Shaykhun, Al-Lataminah, Atshan, Al-Mshirfah, villages in Sinjar Township, Babuline, Tell Maraq, Al-Hamdania, Abu Omar, Um Haratayn, Kafr Amim, Murak, Kafr Zita, Saraqeb, Tahtaya, Jarjnaz, Sarman, Al-Khwaiyn, Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside, Tell Touqan, Sahyan, and other villages, residential communities and towns in Hama and Idlib countryside, which caused a large number of citizens and fighters during 8 consecutive days of the escalation.
