The violent fighting continues between the regime forces and the factions in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus with more aerial and rocket shelling

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the clashes continued at a violent and escalated pace after the midnight of Tuesday – Wednesday, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and Al-Rahman Corps, in areas in the vicinity of the Vehicle Department and near the governorate building and the vicinity of Al-Hagaz Garage, accompanied by rocket shelling by the regime forces, on the clash areas and other areas in Harasta city, and the number of raids through which the warplanes targeted areas in Harasta city and its outskirts yesterday, has increased to 23 raids, while the regime forces fired 9 missiles at least believed to be ground-to-ground, on areas in Harasta city and its vicinity, which caused material damage, without information about casualties.

 

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published last night, that the clashes continued between fighters of Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic Movement, Al-Rahman Corps and Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham against the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen, and the clashes were concentrated near Al-Hagaz Garage, the governorate building and in the vicinity of Vehicle Department, in which the factions managed to achieve advancement in the area, where they took the control of more points used to be controlled by the regime forces and some of which are located in the ceasefire area between the both parties, and the clashes between the both parties were accompanied by continuous artillery and rocket shelling by the regime forces on the factions-held areas in Harasta, while Jaysh Al-Islam carried out an attack targeting the regime forces in Zriqiyyeh in the Eastern Ghouta, and the attack was accompanied by intensive rocket shelling on the positions of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, followed by violent clashes between the both parties, and information about casualties in the ranks of the both parties.

 

In the same context, the numbers of casualties who were killed today in the eastern Ghouta, has increased to 8 persons they are: a man and 2 of his children as well as the children’s grandmother were killed in raids on areas in Harasta city carried out by the warplanes, a male nurse died affected by the injury he had due to shelling by the regime forces on Arbin city, 2 men were killed by shelling by the regime forces on areas in Douma city, and a man died affected by the injury he had due to shelling by the regime forces which targeted Kafr Batna town, raisin the death toll to 46 citizens at least including 11 children and 4 citizen women, who were killed due to the aerial, artillery and rocket shelling on cities and town in the Eastern Ghouta since Friday the 29th of December 2017 and until now, and the casualties are 26 citizens including 8 children, 3 citizen women and a male nurse, they were killed in raids by the warplanes on areas in Harasta city controlled by the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and raids on Madyara town, and 20 citizens including 3 children, a citizen woman and 2 male nurses were killed by artillery and rocket shelling targeted areas in the cities of Harasta, Hamuriya, Douma and Arbin as well as the towns of Kafr Batna, Mesraba, Al-Nashabiyah and Otaya, and the aerial and artillery shelling left tens of casualties and wounded included a large number of children and citizen women, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
