Despite the bad weather…the warplanes resume their targeting of Idlib countryside and the regime forces advance increasing their scope of control to 70 towns and villages in Idlib and Hama during about 75 days after the attack started
The fighting is still continuing at a violent pace between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the rebel and Islamic factions, in areas in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, and the clashes were accompanied by intensive shelling by the regime forces, on the controlled areas of the factions and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, and the warplanes targeted areas in Tar’aa and Sukayk towns in the southern countryside of Idlib, amid bad weather conditions prevailing the area, while the warplanes targeted areas in the lands surrounding Khan Shaykhun city and other areas in Al-Tamanah town, which caused material damage, without information about casualties.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces managed to expand their control again through achieving new advancement after intensive shelling forced the factions to withdraw, and enabled them the regime forces to take the control of 2 villages which are Dreibiyeh and Umm Sehrij and its station as well as Mshirfat Al-Jawaan Farm and Umm Al-Khalayil Hill, thus, the regime forces have increased their scope of control to 70 towns, villages and areas, which are “Dreibiyeh, Umm Sehrij and its station, Mshirfat Al-Jawaan Farm, Umm Al-Khalayil Hill, Umm Al-Khalayil, Niha, Zarzur, Sham Al-Hawa, al-Khwyn, Al-Salumiya, Al-Jadu’eiyah, Tel Za’atar, Atshan, Tel Maraq, Abu Omar, Al-Nasriya, Al-Hamdaniya, and its station, Abu Dali, Umm Haratin, Tel Tawila Mohamoud, Ras Al-Ain, Tel Aswad, Qabibat, Um Al-Huda, al-Hawiyyah, Al-Rweideh, al-Syriatel Hill, Al-Shatib, Al-Zafriyyah, Al-Blil, Um Khazim, Um Trikiyyeh, Rajm al-Ahmar, Al-Shahatiyyah, Al-Mestriha, Jub Abyad, Rasm Abu Mayyal, RasmAl-Sawwan, Rasm Al-Sawi, Rasm Al-Ahmar, Rasm Al-Tina, Abu Laffah, Al-Mshirfah, Jwi’eid, Hasrat, Khirbat Al-Rahjan, Hasnawi, Mweileh Shamali, Qasr Ali , Qasr Shawi, Tal Mahsar, Al-Rabiaa, Duma, Rabda, Hazem, Arafa, Mrijeb al-Jamlan, Al-Khefyeh, Sham Al Hawa, Al Rahraha, Sarha, Abu Al-Gher, Hasnawi and Baghidid, and Mrijeb al-Jamlan.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today shelling by the regime forces on areas in Sukayk and Al-Tamanah towns in the southern countryside of Idlib, in conjunction with 2 raids carried out by the warplanes on areas in Maarrat Al-Nu’man city about which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the warplanes targeted in the morning of the 2nd of January 2018 a museum in Maarrat Al-Nu’man in the southern countryside of Idlib, and caused significant destruction in parts of the museum, which used to be a headquarters of the regime in the city back in 2011 and 2012, and later became the headquarters of Ansar al-Islam Brigades, and the trusted sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that these airstrikes have damaged parts of the museum, but no information about casualties, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published this morning that a squadron of warplanes flew yesterday before the midnight and after the midnight over Idlib countryside, targeting by intensive strikes places in the outskirts of Saraqeb town and the road linking Ariha, Saraqeb, Maar Dibsah, Jarjnaz, east of Idlib, and the outskirts of Maarrat Al-Nu’man, Horsh Bnin, Maarat Shurin, and the outskirts of Al-Mastumah and Wadi Al-Deif in the southern section of Idlib countryside.
