More shells rises to about 335 people killed by shells within 53 days of escalation on Damascus and its suburbs
More explosions rocked regime-held areas in the capital Damascus caused by shells that fell on places in the area of Al-Sen’a, leaving a person killed and 5 others injured with different severity, within the ongoing escalation and renewed targeting on areas controlled by the regime forces in the capital Damascus and its suburbs, rising to at least of 334, the number of those killed and injured since the 16th of November 2017, where the SOHR documented the death of 44 persons including 3 women and a child, whose death was documented by the SOHR since the 16th of November 2017, where about 290 persons were injured with different severity, and some of them suffer serious injuries, while some of them are still in serious conditions, which may increase the death toll, where they targeted during the past days places in Al-Dawila area, places in Al-Dawila, and Al-Sawika areas, areas of Al-Fahama and Khalid bin al-Walid Street, and other areas in Old Damascus, Al-Zablatany, Al-Mujtahed, al-Fayhaa, Al-Abasyeen, Al-Mayadeen, Seba’ Baharat, Aish Al-Warawar, Jermana, Dahyat Al-Assad, Military Teshereen Hospital and other places in the center of the capital.
Rif Dimashq province – the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: a state of clam prevails in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus after series of heavy artillery, missile and aerial shelling that targeted areas in the Eastern Ghouta today the Saturday 6th of January 2018, where the besieged cities, towns and villages of the Eastern Ghouta and the clash area between the regime forces and their allied militiamen against Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic Movement and Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham and Al-Rahman Corps are witnessing an exchange of targeting between them from time to another. The calm came after a massacre in Hamuriya city and aerial shelling on other areas leaving people killed and injured.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago at least 17 people were killed at least including 2 children and 3 citizen women, the number of persons who were killed today in the raids that targeted Hammuriyya, Arbin city and Madyara town which are controlled by Rahman Corps, the casualties are: 12 persons including 2 children and 3 citizen women were killed in the massacre of Hammuriyya city, and 3 citizens were killed in raids on areas in Arbin city, and 2 citizens were killed in raids on Madyara town, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, and also due to the presence of missing persons, where the warplanes carried out this afternoon 2 raids targeting areas in Mesraba town, which is under the control of Jaysh al-Islam, and injured about 15 civilians including children and female citizens, while 10 citizens were wounded by the fall of a missile believed to be ground-to-ground launched by the regime forces on Harasta city, also warplanes targeted areas in Zamalka and the outskirts of Ein Tarma from the side of Jobar causing material damage, but no information about casualties.
Thus, the total death toll has increased to 96 citizens including 20 children and 20 citizen women, all of them were in the period between the 29th of December 2017 and until now the 6th of January 2018, and the casualties are: 71 citizens including 16 children, 19 citizen women and a male nurse, they were killed in raids by the warplanes on areas in Harasta city controlled by the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and in raids on Madyara town, and 25 citizens including 5 children, 3 citizen women and 2 male nurses were killed by artillery and rocket shelling that targeted areas in Beit Sawa town, the cities of Harasta, Hamuriya, Douma and Arbin as well as the towns of Kafr Batna, Mesraba, Al-Nashabiyah and Otaya, and the aerial and artillery shelling have left tens of casualties and wounded included a large number of children and citizen women, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of people with serious injuries.
