The regime forces achieve great advancement and become at about 8 km away from Abu Al-Duhur Military Airbase after their shelling as well as the Russian raids resulted in the displacement of more than 150000 citizens during 2 weeks

Idlib Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Russian warplanes as well as regime’s helicopters and warplanes do not stop their bombardment on the eastern, the south-eastern and the southern countryside of Idlib province, side by side with escalating the bombardment on the northern and the north-eastern countryside of Hama, and this escalation is accompanied with intensifying the shelling by artillery, mortar and tanks shells as well as missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, which causes with each strike, material damage to the infrastructure and to the property of the citizens, and the regime forces and their warplanes as well as the Russian warplanes result in escalating the displacement, as the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the displacement of more than 150000 citizens from the villages and the towns of Abu Al-Duhur area, Sinjar area, Saraqeb area, Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside, and the southern countryside of Idlib, with displacement from the northern and the north-eastern countryside of Hama as well as the southern countryside of Aleppo, to the middle and the north of Idlib, where the citizens can survive their lives and their families and reach areas away from death and killing, that is all taking place amid the bad humanitarian situation and the great lack of areas hosting this large number of displaced people, or the needed foodstuff.

This great displacement escalated as a result of the violent bombardment, which is still continuing until now, in which it targeted today the 9th of January 2018, villages and areas in Abu Al-Duhur countryside as well as others in the eastern countryside of Idlib, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored raids carried out by warplanes and bombardment by explosive barrels targeting areas in Abu Al-Duhur and Jarjnaz towns and the villages of Tal Mardikh and Al-Haraki in the south-east and the east of Idlib, in addition to targeting Al-Ma’aysarunah village in Maarrat Al-Nu’man countryside, and places in the villages of Khan al-Sabil and Babilla north of Maarrat Al-Nu’man city, as well as areas in Saraqeb town in the eastern section of Idlib countryside, which resulted in the fall of wounded including children and citizen women.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored wide advancement by the regime forces today, in which they controlled 12 villages in the eastern countryside of Idlib, and managed to advance through two adjacent fronts in the eastern countryside of Idlib, towards Abu Al-Duhur Military Airbase, and the regime forces became at a distance of about 8 km away from Abu Al-Duhur Airbase, and theregime forces expand their scope of control greatly with the entry of the military operations escalation in Idlib countryside its 16th days, during which the regime forces managed to impose their control over 90 villages and towns since the 25th of December 2017, the date of starting the escalation after Suhail Al-Hassan was assigned to lead the operations in the area.
