31 civilian casualties killed by shelling by the regime and aerial raids in the highest daily death toll in the Eastern Ghouta during 13 days of escalating the shelling and killing in it
Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the regime forces have renewed since this morning their intensive shelling on areas in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, in conjunction with intensive bombardment, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes carried out more than 25 raids on areas in Harasta city, in conjunction with shelling on the same places by 7 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, as well as shelling by about 15 artillery and rocket shells, while the regime forces shelled areas in Arbin city and its outskirts by more than 30 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, and the regime forces also fired 8 shells at least on areas in Hazrma and Beit Nayem towns in Al-Marj area, amid violent clashes between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the fighters of Jaysh Al-Islam, following an attack by the latter on Zriqiyyeh area, which resulting in capturing 2 members at least of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them as well as the death and the injury of about 10 members of the regime forces, while 2 members at least of Jaysh Al-Islam including a field commander were killed, and other were injured.
On the other hand, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the death toll of who were killed yesterday in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, has increased to 31 citizens, including 11 children and 5 citzen women they are: 20 citizens including 8 children and 5 women were killed in airstrikes on areas in Hamouriyah city, a man was killed in bombardment by warplanes on areas in Harasta city, 7 citizens including a child were killed in shelling by the regime forces on areas in Douma city, and one of them was decapitated due the shelling, and 3 citizens including 2 children were killed in airstrikes on areas in Saqba city, while the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of more than 65 injured people, some of them are in serious conditions, and this is the highest daily civilian death toll since the shelling escalation started on the 29th of December 2017, thus, the death toll has increased to 161 citizens including 41 children and 33 citizen women, since the 29th of December 2017 and until today, and the casualties are 119 citizens including 35 children, 27 citizen women and a male nurse, they were killed in raids by the warplanes on areas in Harasta city controlled by the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and raids on Madyara town as well as the cities of Saqba, Hamuriya, Douma and Arbin, and 42 citizens including 6 children and 6 citizen women and 2 male nurses were killed by artillery and rocket shelling targeted areas in Beit Sawa town, the cities of Harasta, Hamuriya, Douma and Arbin as well as the towns of Kafr Batna, Mesraba, Al-Nashabiyah and Otaya, and the aerial and artillery shelling left tens of casualties and wounded included a large number of children and citizen women, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
