After the regime forces and their allies reached inside Abu Al-Duhur Military Airbase after they controlled 117 villages… counter attack by Tahrir Al-Sham and the factions on several areas in Idlib countryside
Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the Islamic Party of Turkestan, Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement, and its supporting factions, have continuing their counter attack since last night, on positions of the regime forces in the vicinity of Abu Al-Duhur Military Airbase, in which the most violent clashes are taking place between the both parties, amid intensive shelling by warplanes and hundreds of artillery and rocket shells, on the positions of the latter in the airbase and its vicinity, as well as Tell Silmo area, while the sound of violent explosion has not stopped during the past hours, as a result of the continuation of the bombardment by warplanes and the shelling by the regime forces on areas in the eastern and the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, where the warplanes shelled areas in the towns of Al-Taman’aa, Jarjnaz, Ghadqa and Saraqeb, which killed a citizen on Saraqeb, accompanied by bombardment by helicopters which targeted areas Al-Taman’aa town and Umm Jalal village in the southern countryside of Idlib by explosive barrels, and the regime forces also shelled areas in Khan Shaykhun city in the southern countryside of Idlib.
In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent clashes between the both parties in the areas of Al-Khwaiyn, Zarzur, Al-Mshirfah and Atshan in the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, in an attempt by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and its supporting factions to advance at the expense of the regime forces and regain the areas it lost, scatter the regime forces and keep them busy fighting in several fronts, to stop their advancement in the area of Abu Al-Duhur Military Airbase, and the factions managed to advance and they took the control of most of Atshan village, while the clashes have been continuing in the outskirts of the village, in addition to advancing in points in Al-Khwaiyn and Zarzur areas, and this violent fighting was accompanied by intensive shelling by the regime forces and warplanes, on the clash areas and the violent clashes and the intensive shelling resulted in the fall of human losses as well as capturing members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them by the factions.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Right published last night that it monitored violent clashes taking place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities against Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party and their supporting factions, where the violent clashes between them are concentrated in the southern parts of the campus of Abu Al-Duhur Airbase, of which the regime forces were able to control hours ago, in conjunction with violent clashes in Tal Salmo area and the perimeter of the airbase, amid intense artillery and rocket shelling, also Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the supporting factions were able during their violent attack to kill and capture tens of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, where the Syrian Observatory documented for Human rights documented the killing of at least 35 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, as well as the injury of several others, also 14 others of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them were captured by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the factions, in which Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham is seeking to regain control of the areas and sites it lost inside and around the airbase’s campus, and clashes are accompanied by intense aerial bombardments by Russian warplanes and regime’s warplane and helicopters, in conjunction with intense exchange of shelling and targeting between both parties, and information about more casualties in their ranks, and the countryside of Idlib witnessed today a wide advancement by the regime forces, during which they advanced in 25 villages, expanding their controlled villages and towns to at least 117 in the countryside of Idlib since the start of escalation of military operations of the regime forces on the 25th of December 2017, they also expanded their control to 160 villages and towns in the countryside of Idlib and Hama, and they are: Tel Salmo, Zafr Sagher, Zafar Kabir, Al-Dabshiya, Rasm Abed, Talb, Mera’aya, Al-Hisa, Om Jrin, Bayya’a Saghira, Bayya’a Kabira, Jub Abyad, Al-Bowayder, Aqlat Al-Bowayder, Raefah, Aziza, Rasm Nayas, Ras al-Ayn, Rasm Al-Jahsh, Om Tammakh, Rasm Al-Khshuf, Mbawas, Rasm Al-Burj, Rasm Al-Ahmar, Rasm Al-Ayn, al-Jabriya, Khariba, Rasm Al-War, Harmla.
