In conjunction with renewed fighting in Douma and Harasta farms…shelling by about 75 raids, missiles and shells raises the number of the civilian casualties in the besieged Al-Ghouta to 182 persons

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Eastern Ghouta is witnessing renewed shelling by the regime forces on areas in its cities and towns, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored since this morning the 13th of January 2018, shelling by the regime forces by 6 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, which fell on areas in Arbin city controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, the regime forces also shelled areas in Harasta city and its outskirts by more than 40 rocket shells targeting areas in it, in conjunction with shelling by more than 13 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, on the same areas, while the clashes renewed for the second consecutive day in the farms stretched between Douma and Harasta cities, between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them against the fighters of Jaysh Al-Islam and the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham, while the warplanes carried out 3 raids targeting areas in Harasta city and its outskirts, while the regime forces shelled areas in Douma city the stronghold of Jaysh Al-Islam in the Eastern Ghouta, by about 10 shells, which killed a man and a citizen woman and injured more than 7 others with varying severity.

Thus, the death toll has increased to 182 citizens including 52 children and 38 citizen women, of who were killed since the 29th of December 2017 as a result of targeting the Eastern Ghouta by hundreds of raids and hundreds of artillery and rocket strikes, and the casualties are 126 citizens including 40 children, 31 citizen women and a male nurse, they were killed in raids by the warplanes on areas in Harasta city controlled by the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and raids on Madyara town as well as the cities of Saqba, Hamuriya, Douma and Arbin, and 56 citizens including 12 children and 7 citizen women and 2 male nurses were killed by artillery and rocket shelling targeted areas in Beit Sawa town, the cities of Harasta, Hamuriya, Douma and Arbin as well as the towns of Kafr Batna, Mesraba, Al-Nashabiyah and Otaya, and the aerial and artillery shelling left tens of casualties and wounded included a large number of children and citizen women, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
