After violent shelling…calm prevails the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and the areas of the Syrian South Truce’s efficiency

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: a cautious calm has been prevailing the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, since last night and until now, in which the regime forces renewed their rocket shelling last night on the Eastern Ghouta, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published then that the regime forces targeted this evening by 8 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground areas in Arbin city in the Eastern Ghouta, raising to about 20, the number of missiles that targeted the city since this morning, and the shelling this evening, Thursday, caused casualties, where 2 fighters were killed of Rahman Corps.

 

The calm has been prevailing the area were the American – Russian – Jordanian agreement is affected, in the Syrian South which applied on the 9th of July 2017, since yesterday, in which the regime forces targeted Al-Naimah town east of Daraa by shells, as well as the fall of a shell fired by the regime forces on Rakham – Al-Karak Al-Sharqi Road in the eastern countryside of Daraa, and Daraa city witnesses sporadic exchange of targeting by shells and heavy machineguns almost daily.

 

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 9th of July 2017, that the regional-international agreement went into effect in three provinces of southern Syria, namely Daraa, Al-Quneitra and Al-Suwaidaa, at 12 pm today, the 9th of July 2017. The SOHR has observed so far that calm is prevailing the provinces of southern Syria and no violations of the truce have been reported so far although the few moments that preceded its implementation witnessed the firing of several shells by the regime forces on faction-controlled areas in Daraa but no casualties have been reported so far.

 

This American-Russian-Jordanian agreement that includes three provinces of southern Syria came after violent battles during the last few weeks between the factions active there and the regime forces and their allied militiamen. where in al-Suwaidaa province there are Jaysh al-Asha’er, Ahmad al-Abdu Forces and Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiyyah, while the southern factions which supported by regional and international parties in Daraa Province, while in Al-Quneitra Province there are Jabhat Thowwar Syria, al-Ezz Brigade, Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the Islamic Movement of Ahrar al-Sham, Forsan al-Golan Brigade, al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigade, al-Sebtayn Brigade, 46th Infantry Brigades and Ansar al-Islam Front, while in Yarmouk Basin area in the western countryside of Daraa is controlled by Jaysh Khalid Ibn al-Walid who swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” Organization.

Hama Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the warplanes bombed this morning, areas in Kafr Nabudah town in the northern countryside of Hama, without information about causing casualties, while areas in Al-Lataminah town in the same countryside , were shelled by the regime forces after the midnight of Thursday – Friday, without information about injuries.
