After a night counter attack…the SDF regain the control of two villages in Afrin and cash with the Turkish forces and their allies in two other villages

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the violent clashes are still continuing between the Syria Democratic Forces against the Turkish forces and the factions backed by them, in areas in the northern border of Afrin area with Turkey, and the western border with Iskenderun, as a result of violent counter attacks started by the SDF in order to recover the positions which the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation advanced into, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the SDF managed today morning Monday the 22nd of January 2018, to achieve advancement and regained the control of Shenkal and Adamaly villages in the north and the west of Afrin, while clashes are taking place in two other border villages, as a result of the attempts of advancement by the Turkish forces and their backed factions in order to advance in the area and impose their control over villages controlled by the SDF in Afrin area.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored intensive and ongoing artillery shelling by the Turkish forces on the SDF-held areas in Afrin and the northern countryside of Aleppo, amid absence of warplanes from the skies of Afrin, as they did not carry out any strikes during last night and until now, while clashes took places between the both parties in areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo on the contact lines between the factions operating within “The Euphrates Shield” Operation formerly, and the SDF.

 

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that it monitored the Syria Democratic Forces carrying out a counterattack, and they were able to advance in sites they lost and in points to which the Turkish forces advanced to during the daylight hours, where the Syria Democratic Forces are trying to advance in the area and force the Turkish forces and the factions to return to the other side of the border, the clashes are accompanied by the exchange of targeting in the contact areas between both parties. The clashes between both parties are concentrated in the areas of Shinkal, Admani, Shadia, Surka, Hamam, Kerdu and other areas along the western and northern borders of Afrin, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published during the past few hours that 6 fighters at least of the factions were killed in the clashes, while 2 fighters were killed of Syria Democratic Forces in the same clashes, and the Syrian Observatory also published that the aerials shelling is still ongoing along with violent clashes, and the death toll is still increasing, as a result of recovering more dead bodies from under the rubbles caused by the aerial and artillery shelling on Afrin areas in the northeastern countryside eof Aleppo, where it rose to at least 11, the number of people killed and documented by the SOHR, who were killed in the massacre carried out by Turkish warplanes on  Madjanah area in Jelbara village in the southeast of Afrin city, causing the death of 8 civilians  from one family from Ma’ert Al-Noaman countryside in Idlib province, including a woman and 5 children below the age of 16, rising to 21 at least, including 6 children and women, the number of those killed within 24 hours of shelling of the Turkish forces and warplanes on Afrin area, also areas in Kaljibrin town in the northern countryside of Aleppo witnessed fall of shells fired by the SDF located in the northern countryside of Aleppo, which caused material damage, and resulted in the death two persons -a man and his son- and the injury of others with varying severity.
