The Turkish warplanes intensify their targeting and bomb the villages and the townships of Afrin by tens of strikes with the continuation of the combat operations on its border with Turkey and Iskenderun

Violent and successive explosions rocked Afrin countryside today morning Wednesday the 24th of January 2018, caused by an airstrike hit Afrin area by the Turkish warplanes which do not almost leave the skies of this area located in the north-western countryside of Aleppo, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; these raids targeted the villages of Basoufan, Kafar Rom, Bafalyun, Qastal Jendo, Kindi, Mazn, Halubiyah, Qatma and Kbashin in the townships of Shirawa, Sharra and Bulbula in Afrin area, which has been witnessing military operations by the Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions supported by them, since the 20th of January 2018, while clashes are continuing between the Syria Democratic Forces against the Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions, in areas in the border villages and points in Afrin area from the north-eastern border of Afrin with Turkey, to its western border with Iskenderun, amid intensive exchange of targeting on the clash areas between the both parties, and information about more human losses in the ranks of the both parties, while the SDF targeted the factions’ controlled areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo, and information about the death of 2 members of a rebel faction and the injury of others as a result of this targeting, as they were located in the place at the same time of the shelling.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that The Turkish forces re-shelled places in Afrin area in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent shelling targeted areas in town Jendires and its area, which was shelled today and the shelling killed 4 children and women, it also injured others, while shelling targeted areas in Raju Township and the other places in the countryside of Afrin, which caused more damage to the property of citizens, while the clashes continues at a violent pace between the Syria Democratic Forces against the rebel and Islamic factions and the Turkish forces, in the areas of Qastal Jandu and Bulbula Township northwest of Afrin, and the areas of Raju and Sheik Hadid and Jendires area and the area of Mount Samaan south of Afrin, coinciding with intense exchange of targeting on the clash areas, amid attempts by the Turkish Forces and “Olive Branch” Operation Forces to advance in the area, after the advance of the Syria Democratic Forces in the area, and information about more casualties in the ranks of both parties, and confirmed information about captives of “Olive Branch” Operation Forces, who had captured fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces in the past few days.

The Syrian Observatory published hours ago that the Turkish shelling continue on areas controlled by the SDF in Afrin area, and the SOHR monitored ongoing artillery and missile shelling on the district of Jandiris, and other places in the countryside of Afrin, and the shelling caused the death of 4 citizens; they are 2 children and 2 women, one of them is an elderly woman, and 10 others were injured with different severity, and the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of several injured people in serious conditions, rising to at least 27 people also including 8 children and 4 women, the number of citizens who were killed in shelling by the Turkish forces and the Turkish warplanes on Afrin city since the 20th of January 2018 in the areas of Jilbara and Marimeen and other places in Afrin city, and a man and his child were killed in shelling by the SDF on towns of Kiljibrin in the northern countryside of Aleppo, and the death toll has increased to 43 at least, the number of fighters of the rebel and Islamic factions operating in “Olive Branch” Operation who were killed in addition to 2 Turkish fighters, , while it has increased to at least 38, the number of the fighters of the SDF and the Civil Defense who were killed in the clashes between them, including a reporter of the SDF who died affected by the injury he had during the coverage of the battle in the north-east of Afrin.
