About 2 months after a Russian massacre in Al-Shafa town killed 55 civilians…the International Coalition carries out a similar massacre and targets a similar place in the same town leaving 15 casualties at least

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the number of the civilian casualties is increasing in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, as a result of the death of more citizens, affected by the injury they had due to bombardment by the International Coalition’s warplanes on Al-Shafa town, which witnessed a massacre killed 53 persons including 21 children under the age of eighteen, and 12 citizen women over the age of eighteen, in late November 2017, by bombardment by warplanes believed to be Russian on the area at that time, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the death toll in the town has increased to 15 casualties including 7 citizen women as a result of bombardment carried out on Tuesday the 23rd of January 2018, by warplanes believed to be related to the International Coalition, on Al-Shafa town which is still controlled by the “Islamic State” organization, while the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the bombardment targeted a residential community similar to that one bombed by the Russian warplanes about 2 months ago resulting in a massacre there, in which this residential community includes shops and houses.

 

In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored 10 missiles at least were fired from positions of the Syria Democratic Forces and their supporting forces in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, on the organization’s controlled areas on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, and the clash areas between the both parties, as the clashes are still continuing between the both parties in areas at the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, in an attempt by the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation to achieve further advancement in the areas and impose their control over more areas after they advanced during the past few days in Gharanij area and took the control of the most of the town, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published in the past week, what the reliable sources confirmed about that the clashes are taking place under the supervision of Syrian commanders in the organization as well as fighter from the area, in which their knowledge of the nature of the area reflected on the course of the operations, in addition to an other reason which is the presence of large amounts of gold, silver and money with the organization in Gharanij which used to be inhabited by citizens of Sh’aytat Clan, in which this town as well as the towns of Abu Hamam and al-Kashkiyyeh witnessed the biggest massacre against the Syrian people by ISIS which killed about 1000 Syrian citizens, and the reliable sources told the SOHR that the organization tries to preserve these amounts and sent them safely out of the area, so it fights desperately to repel the attacks and carries out counter attacks, while the International Coalition targets the area at lower pace, in an attempt by it with its backed forces to seize these amounts of gold, silver and money, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published then that the organization carried out counter attacks in the past few days and the most violent was during the past 48 hours, which were accompanied by detonating 2 booby trapped vehicle in the town, amid attacks by the organization and raging a fight between it against the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation, which escalated their operation in early December 2017, in order to end the presence of ISIS on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during the past 48 hours, the fall of human losses due to the counter attacks of ISIS, in which the SOHR documented the death of 29 members at least of the organization, while 8 members at least of the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation wee killed due to the detonations, clashes and the exchange of shelling, and the casualties in the ranks of the organization whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, include Abu Talha al-Almani who is one of the European commanders remaining in the pocket still controlled by the organization in the east of the Euphrates River, consists of 5 villages and towns.
