The Turkish warplanes’ massacre in Kobla village in Afrin claims the lives of 8 citizens of one family most of them are children, and aerial bombardment targets a village where a massacre took place days ago

The number of civilians who were killed continues to rise in the village of Kobla, after a massacre carried out by the Turkish warplanes which targeted Kobla village in the southeast of Afrin city; in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo, where it rose to 8 persons of one family -including 5 children under the age of 17 and 3 of them are females- the number of people who were killed in this massacre, raising to 51 Syrian citizens of the Kurds, Arabs and Armenians including 17 children and 7 citizen women, who have been killed since the 20th of January 2018 until today morning the 28th of January 2018, in aerial, artillery and rocket shelling on Afrin city, the villages of Kobla, Jalbarah, Maryameen, Maabatli town, and other villages and areas in the northern and the western countryside of Afrin, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored warplanes carrying out raids on areas in Jalbarah village -in which they carried out a massacre days ago-, which damaged property but no information about casualties.

In the same context, places in Tal Rifaat area in the northern countryside of Aleppo (controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces) were shelled by the regime forces, which caused material damage but no information about casualties, also violent clashes are taking place in places in Rajo Township between YPG and the Self-Defense Forces against the rebel and Islamic factions and the Turkish forces, and the clashes are concentrated in the areas of Ali Beska and Kafr Ker in the western countryside of Afrin, and the clashes coincide with intense artillery and rocket shelling by Turkish forces on the clash areas and other areas in Afrin, amid exchange of targeting on the clash areas between both parties, and information about more casualties in the ranks of both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the Turkish forces backed by the Islamic and rebel factions operating within “Olive Branch” Operation Forces, managed to advance and control Bersaya Mount located in the northeastern countryside of Afrin, and the control came after several failed attempts to control this Mount, since the 22nd of JAnaury 2018, and the SOHR learned that the control came after tens of airstrikes carried out by Turkish warplanes and helicopters taking part in the military operation in Bersaiya town area, and the violent battles and clashes, which took place between the YPG and Self Defense Forces against the Turkish forces and the Islamic and rebel factions operating within “Olive Branch” Operation were accompanied by heavy shelling causing more human losses, and the SOHR documented the death of at least 12 fighters of the Kurdish forces, who were killed in aerial shelling and clashes, while at least two were captured and others were injured with different severity, while there is confirmed information about members of the “Olive Branch” operation were killed and injured in these clashes.
