With the participation of the Grey Wolves, violent battles are still ongoing in Afrin between the Turkish forces and their allied factions against the YPG

27 children and women are among 61 civilians of Kurds, Arab and Armenians who were killed by the Turkish raids and shells in Afrin area

The area of Afrin located on the Syrian – Turkish border in the northwestern part of Aleppo province, witness ongoing military operation for the tenth day on a row, since the operations began on the 20th of January 2018, along with artillery and missile shelling and airstrikes that left tens of people killed and injured, and the SOHR monitored raids by warplanes today, where the Turkish warplanes targeted villages in Bulbula district and other areas in the districts of Rajo and Jundayras, in conjunction with artillery and missile shelling that targeted areas in the northern and western countryside of Afrin, leaving more causalities. The SOHR documented the death of death of 61 Syrian citizens of the Kurds, Arabs and Armenians including 18 children and 11 citizen women, who lived in Afrin area or have been displaced to it in the past years, while tens of others were injured, and the death toll is still expected to increase due to the presence of injured people in serious conditions. The SOHR monitored violent clashes between the YPG and the Self-Defense forces on one hand, and the rebel and Islamic factions and the Turkish forces and the Grey Wolves operating under the Turkish flag on the other, and the clashes concentrated today in areas in the hilss of Raju and Jaudayras district, in an attempt by the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation to advance in the area and go deep into the area of Afrin, and the clashes are accompanied by an exchange of targeting between both parties, amid shelling and an exchange of targeting in the clashes area. The SOHR documented the death toll of the conflicted parties, where it rose to 78, the number of the fighters of the YPG and the Self-Defense forces who were killed in the clashes and the aerial and artillery shelling, including a female fighter was killed during carrying out an attack by grenades and heavy machineguns on a heavy vehicle of the Turkish army and its allies in Hamam village, while it has increased to 85 at least, the number of the members of the “Olive Branch” Operation who were killed during the same period in the clashes, the exchange of shelling and detonating vehicles, including 9 soldiers of the Turkish forces, where the YPG still have 4 bodies of them, and the clashes between them resulted in the fall of tens of injuries, captives and missing people in the ranks of the both parties.
