Intensive artillery and rocket shelling target places in Harasta and Al-Marj area in the Eastern Ghouta

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the shelling was renewed by the regime forces on places at the outskirts of Otaya town in Al-Marj area, controlled by the Jaysh al-Islam, which caused material damage but no information about casualties, while the regime forces targeted areas in Hosh al-Salhiya town which injured one person, also the regime forces targeted areas in Harasta city and its outskirts by more missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, raising to at least 24, the number of  missiles that targeted the area and injured about 10 citizens.

Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: areas in al-Sha’afah town which is controlled by the “Islamic State” organization and located to the east of Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, were shelled by the Syria Democratic Forces, in conjunction with the continuous clashes at the outskirts of al-Bahra village in the same countryside, between the Syria Democratic Forces against members of the “Islamic State” organization, amid exchange of targeting in the clash areas between both parties, where “Jazeera Storm” Operation Forces are trying to achieve an advancement and control the village, and clamp down on the organization, after completely controlling Gharanij town, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored on Monday that the Syria Democratic Forces managed to impose fully control over, and they advanced to Al-Bahra village whose outskirts are witnessing violent clashes between the SDF against and the members of the organization which tries to repel the advancement of the former, and prevent them to take the control of the areas remaining under the control of the organization on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, as there are only Hajin, Abu al-Hassan, Shaafah, Al-Baghuz, and large spaces of Al-Bahra village, and the clashes are accompanied by intensive and exchange of artillery and rocket shelling between the both parties, which resulted in the fall of confirmed human losses in the ranks of the both parties.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published during the past week, what the reliable sources confirmed about that the clashes are taking place under the supervision of Syrian commanders in the organization as well as fighter from the area, in which their knowledge of the nature of the area reflected on the course of the operations, in addition to an other reason which is the presence of large amounts of gold, silver and money with the organization in Gharanij which used to be inhabited by citizens of Sh’aytat Clan, in which this town as well as the towns of Abu Hamam and al-Kashkiyyeh witnessed the biggest massacre against the Syrian people by ISIS which killed about 1000 Syrian citizens, and the reliable sources told the SOHR that the organization tries to preserve these amounts and sent them safely out of the area, so it fights desperately to repel the attacks and carries out counter attacks, while the International Coalition targets the area at lower pace, in an attempt by it with its backed forces to seize these amounts of gold, silver and money, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published then that the organization carried out counter attacks in the past few days and the most violent was during the past 48 hours, which were accompanied by detonating 2 booby trapped vehicle in the town, amid attacks by the organization and raging a fight between it against the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation, which escalated their operation in early December 2017, in order to end the presence of ISIS on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored during the past 48 hours, the fall of human losses due to the counter attacks of ISIS, in which the SOHR documented the death of 29 members at least of the organization, while 8 members at least of the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation wee killed due to the detonations, clashes and the exchange of shelling, and the casualties in the ranks of the organization whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, include Abu Talha al-Almani who is one of the European commanders remaining in the pocket still controlled by the organization in the east of the Euphrates River, consists of 5 villages and towns.
