Shells target Atma refugee camp on the Syrian – Turkish borders near Afrin killing and injuring 14 people at least including children
Aleppo province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: explosions rocked the area of Atma refugees camp for displaced people, located on the Syrian border with Iskenderun in the far countryside of Idlib, near the outskirts of Afrin area, caused by the fall of shells, which some cross sources said that the shells were fired by the YPG stationed in Afrin. The shelling left people killed and injured and caused damage to the tents, where the shell fell. The Syrian Observatory documented the death of a child and there is initial information about at least two other martyrs, while more than 13 others were injured with different severity. The number of martyrs is still increasing due to the presence of wounded in dangerous situations. The death toll is still expected to increase due to the presence of injured people in serious conditions. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that a child girl was killed and a number of other persons were injured as a result of shelling by the Syria Democratic Forces, and the shelling of the SDF also targeted Azaz area in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where the sources said that the shelling was carried out by targeting a vehicle they were traveling in, in the outskirts of Azaz city by a guided missile fired by the SDF. It noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 30th of January that it monitored a demonstration carried out by displaced persons in the camps of Atma and Qah, which are located at the outskirts of Afrin area in the countryside of Idlib, where the demonstrators refused to carry out any military action against Afrin area from these areas, and this demonstrations came after demonstrations in Al-Qameshly city during the daylight hours, where demonstrators denounced the Turkish attack on Afrin, demanding that the international community move towards the “Turkish aggression” on Afrin.
