Hours after losing its influence in Aleppo and Hama and giving it a corridor by the regime, ISIS attacks the regime on the western banks of Euphrates River
Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: violent explosions shook the western banks of Euphrates River, which is controlled by the regime forces and their allies of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities, intersected sources said that they were caused by an attack by a group of members of the “Islamic State “organization, accompanied by an explosion believed to be a booby trapped vehicle that targeted the regime forces in the Bokamal area and Deir Ezzor Desert, where the organization seeks to inflict casualties in the ranks of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, and confirmed information about casualties between both parties, due to clashes and exchange of targeting and explosions.
This attack comes hours after ISIS Organization’s loss of its controlled areas in the northeastern countryside of Hama and the southern countryside of Aleppo and after it was given a corridor by the regime forces, through which it reached the southeastern countryside of Idlib, and started its fight against Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the factions operating in the area.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 25th of January 2017 that the “Islamic State” organization does not miss a chance to revenge for his massive loss in the west of the Euphrates River, and losing its presence in its villages, cities and towns, after its presence as an influent power was ended on the 6th of December 2017, as the western banks of the river witnessed several attacks with varied techniques, some of them were carried out by using booby trapped vehicles, others were carried out through attacks by single groups, while others were carried out though arranged attacks struck several positions, cities, towns and villages in the west of the Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and with the continuation of the revenge of the organization and carrying out such attacks, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored today the 25th of January 2018, ISIS stared to carry out a violent attack targeted the regime forces on a line stretched along 32 km on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River between Al-Mayadin area and Al-Salihiyah area.
And this attack comes in the wake of killing an Iranian officer and Afghan members accompanied him in Al-Bokamal city on the same banks in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that an assassination was carried out against an officer of the Iranian forces and 4 members and field commanders of the afghan militiamen, who were killed in Al-Bokamal city near the border line with Iraq, which the regime forces backed by the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, the Revolutionary Iranian Guards, Al-Nujaba’ Iraqi Movement, Liwa Fatemiyoun, the Iraqi Hezbollah, the Lebanese Hezbollah, Syrian and non-Syrian armed militiamen loyal to the regime, controlled about 10 weeks ago, and the reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that ambiguity still surrounds the nature and the circumstances of the assassination against the Iranian officer and the 4 Afghan members and commanders, as the city is empty from any cells of the organization, while sources suggested that the assassination was carried out by bringing them by other persons then they were killed inside the city, by using sharp tools or silencers, while the regime forces and after this incident which took place about 4 days ago in Al-Bokamal city, warned their members and officers not to associate with the citizens of the city or its residents, and warned them to stay away of treating those residents.
