More civilian martyrs raised the death toll to 23 people in 72 hours since the resumption of shelling on the besieged Eastern Ghouta
Rif Dimashq province – the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: the death toll in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus is still increasing since the resumption of shelling of the regime forces and their warplanes and the declining pace of shelling on the Eastern Ghouta, where the SOHR monitored shelling by the regime forces that targeted areas in Misraba town in the Eastern Ghouta, killing a man and a child and injuring 7 others, where it rose to 4 including 2 children, the number of martyrs who were killed today in shelling of the regime forces on areas in Douma city, a man from Douma city also died affected by his injuries he got in shelling yesterday, and another man also died affected by injures he got in shelling by warplanes on areas in Arbin city about 72 hours ago, rising to 23, including 6 children and women, the number of martyrs who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory since the warplanes returned in the afternoon of the 10th of February 2018, to the Eastern Ghouta and the start of shelling by the regime forces on areas in it, after clam lasted for about 24 preceded the return of the shelling, while about 104 persons have been injured since yesterday afternoon and until now.
And the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus witnessed a series of successive bombardment and massacres during 5 bloody days which left more than 250 civilian casualties and about 775 wounded including tens of children and women, this decreased pace of killing and shelling as well as the stop of the warplanes’ flight, comes after 5 bloody days, in which the Eastern Ghouta witnessed the highest death toll during 5 days since late 2014, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of 250 persons at least including 104 children and citizen women, on Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday, and in a descending order of the numbers of civilian casualties in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus according to the number of casualties in cities and towns, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights’ documented casualties: in Arbin city 61 citizens were killed including 16 children and 8 citizen women, then Douma city with the death of 59 citizens including 14 children and 12 citizen women, in addition to the death of 7 other citizens including 2 citizen woman, they were killed in the artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Douma city, followed by Hamuriya city with 26 citizens including 8 children and 2 citizen women, followed by Beit Sawa town with 21 casualties including 6 children and 2 citizen women, then Jesrin town with 17 casualties including 3 children and 6 citizen women were killed in a massacre in the town, then Hazza town with 15 citizens including 5 children and a citizen woman, followed by Zamalka city with 12 casualties including a child and 3 citizen women, followed by Mesraba town with 11 casualties including 3 children and 4 citizen women, then Kafr Batna with 7 citizens including a child, then Saqba with 7 casualties including 2 children and 2 citizen women, then Madyara with 4 citizens including a child and a citizen woman, and finally Harasta city with 3 citizens including a child, while about 775 citizens were injured with varying severity including tens of children and citizen women.
