Renewed shelling on the center of the capital Damascus within the ongoing escalation since November
New explosion rocked areas in the center of the capital and its suburbs, resulted from renewed targeting, where the SOHR monitored fall of shells near the French Hospital area in Al-Kasa’a, in conjunction with fall of shells on Burj Al-Ros, and shells also targeted Jisr Al-Ra’es and Bab Touma in the center of the capital and old Damascus, causing material damage and there is information about injuries, and shells fell on areas in Al-Assad District, located east of the capital, causing material damage, and no information about causalities.
The SOHR documented that it has increased to 92 including 13 children and 12 women, the number of those who were killed as result of the fall of shells and have been documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights since this escalation started on the 16th of November 2017, while it has increased to more than 488 persons who were injured in these daily targeting, including tens of children and citizen women, some of whom have seriously injured and have permanent disability, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored the continuation of the poor health condition of some of the injured people, which may raise the death toll, in which the shells have targeted since the 16th of November 2017, the areas of Al-Dwel’a, Al-Sawika, Al-Fahama Khalid bin al-Walid Street, and other areas in Old Damascus, as well as places in Al-Zablatany, Al-Qassaa, Bab Touma, Al-Mujtahed, al-Fayhaa, Al-Abasyeen, Al-Mayadeen, Seba’ Baharat, Aish Al-Warawar, Jermana, Dahyat Al-Assad, Teshereen Military Hospital and other places in the center of the capital, which caused material damage to the property of the citizens, buildings and shops in the places where these shells had fallen.
