Alertness and mobilizations on the eastern and the western banks of the Euphrates River by SDF and the regime and its allies 6 days after the latter received strikes by the Coalition which killed tens of its members
Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that unusual movements witnessed on the western banks of the Euphrates River, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the areas controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces are located, amid alertness and mobilizations witnessed in the area, by the regime forces and their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and patrolling by the regime forces along the western bank of the river, met by alertness by the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the International Coalition which circulated a warning to the residents of the attempts of the regime forces to infiltrate into the area, and the warplanes of the International Coalition tended to intensive their flight along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River during the last night.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 8th of February 2018, details about what had happened in the east of the Euphrates River between the SDF and the International Coalition on one hand, and the regime forces and their allies of Arab and Asian nationalities on the other, and in the details obtained by the SOHR; gunmen and agents loyal to the regime forces let out a rumor yesterday morning, in Deir Ezzor countryside, that the regime prepares to advance in Deir Ezzor countryside, and the International Coalition abandoned the SDF which remained alone in the face of the regime, to start, an hour before the midnight of Wednesday – Thursday, exchange of artillery shelling between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them located in Khesham area in the east of the Euphrates River, against the SDF located in the villages of Jdid Ekydat, Jdid Bakara and Koniko oilfield, followed by clashes by machineguns between the both parties in the contact areas between them, which forces the International Coalition to intervene in this conflict between the both parties, thus, the International Coalition’s forces stationed in Al-Omar oilfield fired more than 12 missiles which targeted the regime forces in Khesham, Marrat and Al-Salihiyah near Deir Ezzor city, on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from intersected sources, that it was not enough for the International Coalition to carry out this rocket shelling, so the International Coalition’s warplanes hurried to intervene and targeted positions of the regime forces in the vicinity of Khesham town, targeting vehicles of the regime forces and their allies artillery emplacements, resulting in the death of more than 20 members of the regime forces and their allies and the injury of tens other with varying severity, as well as the destructions of several vehicles and artillery emplacements in the area, and the Syrian Observatory monitored alertness by the residents of the controlled areas of the SDF in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and they headed to the fronts to support the SDF to repel the regime’s attack towards the areas that out of its control, while displacement took place from Jdid Ekydat, Jdid Bakara and Al-Dahlah, to other areas in the east of the Euphrates River for fears of renewed shelling by the regime forces, and the shelling of the International Coalition resulted in the death of 45 members at least of the regime forces and their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities as well as the injury of tens others with varying severity.
