Calm returns to the eastern Ghouta after a series of missile and artillery shelling that left 16 casualties and wounded

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the calm prevail again areas in the eastern Ghouta, after the missile and artillery shelling by the regime forces on areas controlled by Jaysh al-Islam in the besieged Ghouta, which killed 2 people and wounded 14 others in Douma city and Mesraba town, as a result of targeting them by 13 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground and shells artillery, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published during the past hours that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored continuation of the calm in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, since the midnight of Thursday – Friday, intervened by only one violation through targeting Harasta city by 2 artillery shells, after the pace of the bombardment by warplane sand the shelling by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them by missiles and artillery shells, had decreased, where they left during the period between the afternoon of the 10th of February 2018 until the night of the 15th of February 2018, 30 civilian casualties including 8 children and 4 citizen women who were killed in the aerial and artillery shelling, and whose death was documented by the SOHR, since the warplanes returned in the afternoon of the 10th of February 2018, to the Eastern Ghouta and the start of shelling by the regime forces on areas in it, after clam lasted for about 24 hours preceded the return of the shelling.

This calm is coincided with the continuation of the talks about the Eastern Chouta, in order to reach an agreement between the factions operation in the Eastern Ghouta and supervising it, and the regime’s authorities with a Russian mediation, while the talks are taking place in conjunction with ongoing mobilizations in the vicinity of the besieged Ghouta, by the regime forces and their allies, in order to carry out a wide operation in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, under the command of the Brigadier in the regime forces, Suhail Al-Hassan, known as the “Tiger”, who led the battle during which the organization was expelled from Aleppo, the Syrian desert and the west of the Euphrates, and fought previously against the rebel and Islamic factions.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from a number of reliable sources, that if the talks and negotiations failed to achieve “reconciliation” in the Eastern Ghouta, then, about 8000 Chinese troops will be brought to participate in the military operations in Rif Dimashq, in order to control the Eastern Ghouta, and secure the vicinity of the capital Damascus, where bringing the Chinese soldiers is associated with the failure of negotiations about the Eastern Ghouta, and it is noteworthy that the Russian forces officially took part in the military operations in Syria on the 30th of September 2015, in the regime’s side by air and land, and the Turkish forces officially entered Syria on the 24th of August 2016, while the International Coalition officially entered and participated in the military operations in Syria on the 23rd of September 2014.
