Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the number of casualties in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus is continuing to increase horribly, as a result of the continuation of the hysteric attack by the regime forces which prepare for a violent military operation against the besieged Ghouta, in order to impose their control over the area, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the number of human losses is continuing to increase as a result of the death of more citizens affected by the injury they had in the bombardment by warplanes and helicopters as well as the artillery and rocket shelling on the cities and the towns of the Eastern Ghouta, where it has increased to 194 persons at least including more than 52 children and 29 citizen women, the number of people who have been killed and documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights during less than 40 hours of the insane and intensive shelling which targeted the Eastern Ghouta by hundreds of explosive barrels, raids, missiles, and artillery and rocket shells, and the casualties are: 17 citizens including 5 children and 3 citizen women were killed on Sunday, in the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on Saqba, Mesraba, Otaya and Ashari area, 127 citizens including 34 children and 23 citizen women were killed on Monday, in the aerial and ground shelling on Hamouriyyah, Beit Sawa, Saqba, Douma, Hazza, Mesraba, Otaya, Al-Nashabiyah, Zamalka, Aftris, Kafr Batna, Al-Shiffuniyya and Jisrayn, and 50 citizens including 13 children and 3 citizen women were killed today, in the shelling on the areas of Otaya and Al-Nashabiyah as well as the cities of Arbin, Zamalka and Mesraba, and the shelling resulted in the injury of more than 850 citizens with varying severity, some of them are still in serious conditions, while others have permanent disabilities.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from a number of reliable sources that the number of casualties is expected to increase due to the presence of tens of missing people, a lot of whom are still under the rubble of the destruction caused by the aerial and artillery shelling on the Eastern Ghouta, and the intensive shelling resulted in massive destruction to the property of the citizens and the infrastructure, amid worsening the tragic humanitarian situation in it, and the deterioration of the health, medical and alimentary reality to be worse than before, as a result of replacing the lifting of the siege by clamping it down, and replacing the sending of aid by sending missiles, bombs and shells into the hungry Ghouta, and replacing the sending of the wounded, injuries and patients to receive treatment, by sending them to the graves to be buried or to the hospital to receive the available treatment, which is lack and which with the shortage of medicines turns the wounded who has seriously injured into a martyr, as a result of the inability to treat such cases or the lack of specialties and lack of medication.
