The killing in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus continues against the besieged people in the 6th day of escalation and raises the number of civilian casualties to more than 420

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus has been witnessing escalated violent shelling since today morning, Friday the 23rd of February 2018, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the Russian warplanes carried out 2 raids targeting areas in Hamouriyah city, which resulted in the death of one person and the injury of tens others with varying severity, and the regime forces targeted the city by a batch of missiles fired by the launchers deployed in the vicinity of the Eastern Ghouta, and the regime forces also shelled areas in Otaya town in Al-Marj area by 10 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, which resulted in the death of one person and the injury of others, while the warplanes bombed areas in Zamalka city, which killed 2 citizens and injured 15 others, while the warplanes raided areas in the towns of Hosh Al-Salihiyah, Nashabiyah and Hazrma in Al-Marj area, in conjunction with shelling by more than 31 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, while the regime forces shelled by 2 similar missiles as well as a batch of rocket shells, areas in Douma city, leaving 10 wounded at least, followed by carrying out raids on areas in Douma city.

And with the death of more citizens in the Eastern Ghouta, as a result of the renewed shelling for the 6th day through the frenzy campaign by the regime forces and their allies, on the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, it has increased to 421 including 96 children and 61 women, the number of the civilian casualties who have been killed since Sunday evening the 18th of February 2018, and the casualties are: 4 citizens were killed today, 60 citizens including 8 children and 7 citizen women who were killed in bombardment by warplanes on areas in Aftries town and Douma and Arbin cities, 85 citizens including 20 children and 12 women, were killed on Wednesday in bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels on Kafr Batna town and airstrikes on Jesrin town and raids on Saqba, 128 citizens including 29 children and 16 women were killed on Tuesday, in the shelling on the areas of Nashabiyah, Otaya, Arbin, Zamalka Mesraba, Hamuriya, Saqba and Ash’ari, 127 citizens including 34 children and 23 women were killed on Monday, in the aerial and ground bombardment on Hamuriya, Beit Sawa and Saqba, Douma , Mesraba, Otaya, Nashabiyah, Zamalka, Aftries, KafrBatna, Al-Shifonyyah and Jesrin, 17 citizens including 5 children and 3 women were killed on the evening of Sunday, in aerial, missile and artillery bombardments on Saqba, Mesraba, Otaya and Ashari area.

 

And the renewed bombardment resulted in increasing the number of wounded to about 2200 civilians, while there are tens of missing people under the rubble caused by the rocket, artillery and aerial shelling on the cities and town in the Eastern Ghouta, which may increase the death toll, in addition to the presence of a large number of injuries, some of them have serious injuries, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
