The Eastern Ghouta of Damascus witnessed the calmest night after a week of massacres which left thousands of casualties and wounded and fighting returns to its fronts with the regime forces

The first 12 hours after the UN Security Council’s resolution was issued, are devoid of civilian casualties in the Eastern Ghouta

After the 7 most bloody days in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, since the start of the Syrian Revolution, the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus has witnessed the calmest night since the 18th of February 2018, while the bloodshed of citizens has stopped since the truce resolution issued by the UN Security Council, where there are no any civilian casualties have been documented since yesterday evening and until today morning, while the early morning witnessed bombardment by warplanes by two raids which targeted areas in Al-Shiffuniyya town, in conjunction with shelling by 6 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, fired by the regime forces on areas in Harasta city, while the regime forces fired 4 artillery shells on areas in the towns of Kafr Batna and Jisrayn and shelled areas in Hamouriyah city by a similar number of shells, in conjunction with shelling by 5 artillery shells on areas in Harasta and by a number of shells on Douma city, while clashes have been taking place since early morning, between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against Jaysh Al-Islam, in areas in the fronts of Hazrma, Zriqiyyeh and Hosh Al-Dawahira, in Al-Marj area, while clashes are taking place between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against Al-Rahman Corps, in Jobar neighborhood, and other areas in Ein Tarma in the western outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta, amid exchange of targeting between the both parties.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published last night that clashes took place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against Jaysh al-Islam, in places in Al-Shifonyyah area at the outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta, in an attempt by the regime forces to advance in the area, and the clashes coincide with intense targeting by heavy machineguns, while it rose to 12 at least, the number of raids that targeted places in Al-Shifonyyah area in the Eastern Ghouta, in conjunction with shelling by the regime forces on the same area, and these clashes are considered the first clashes since the start of escalation on Sunday evening, the 18th of February 2018.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published last night that the warplanes and helicopters of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and its Russian allies, as well as its artilleries and launchers have ended their first week of their vicious campaign on the besieged cities and towns of the eastern Ghouta, where it has increased to 519 citizens including 127 children and 75 women, the number of the civilian casualties who have been killed since Sunday evening the 18th of February 2018, and the casualties are: 41 citizens including 8 children under the age of eighteen, and 8 women were killed today by bombardment by warplanes on Harasta, Douma, Zamalka, Beit Sawa and Al-Shifonyyah, 43 citizens including 18 children and 4 women were killed on Friday, 73 citizens including 9 children and 8 citizen women who were killed on Thursday in bombardment by warplanes on areas in Mesraba and Aftries towns and Douma and Arbin cities, 85 citizens including 20 children and 12 women, were killed on Wednesday in bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels on Kafr Batna town and airstrikes on Jesrin town and raids on Saqba, 133 citizens including 33 children and 17 women were killed on Tuesday, in the shelling on the areas of Nashabiyah, Otaya, Arbin, Zamalka Mesraba, Hamuriya, Saqba and Ash’ari, 127 citizens including 34 children and 23 women were killed on Monday, in the aerial and ground bombardment on Hamuriya, Beit Sawa and Saqba, Douma , Mesraba, Otaya, Nashabiyah, Zamalka, Aftries, KafrBatna, Al-Shifonyyah and Jesrin, 17 citizens including 5 children and 3 women were killed on the evening of Sunday, in aerial, missile and artillery bombardments on Saqba, Mesraba, Otaya and Ashari area, due to intensive aerial, artillery and rocket shelling by about 3940 raids, missiles, explosive barrels and shells, where the warplanes carried out about 629 airstrikes, while the regime’s helicopters dropped more than 232 explosive barrels, and the regime forces shelled the besieged Ghouta by more than 2065 missiles, in conjunction with shelling by about 1014 artillery shells.

While the number of wounded who suffer bad health conditions, in the light of the savage bombardment and cruel onslaught by the regime forces and their allies on the besieged eastern Ghouta, has increased to about 2514 civilians, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the Eastern Ghouta, while there are tens of missing people under the rubble caused by the rocket, artillery and aerial shelling on the cities and town in the Eastern Ghouta, which may increase the death toll, in addition to the presence of a large number of injuries, some of them have serious injuries, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the bombardment of the warplanes and helicopters as well as the intensive shelling on the Eastern Ghouta, resulted in getting 10 hospitals and medical points out of service as a result of their targeting in Saqba, Douma, Beit Sawa, Jesrin, Arbin and other areas in the Eastern Ghouta, to decrease the ability of medical capacity even more, and crowd the places with the wounded who flock as a result of heavy and ongoing shelling by the regime forces, led by the Brigadier Suhail Al-Hassan.

The first citizen woman killed in artillery shelling on the Eastern Ghouta after the UN Security Council’s resolution was issued
Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a citizen woman was killed and 7 other citizens were injured, as a result of shelling by the regime forces by 4 artillery shells on Hamouriyah city in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where this is the first civilian casualty to be killed, after the UN Security Council’s resolution was issued last night, Saturday the 24th of February 2018, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels on areas in the towns of Al-Shiffuniyya and Hosh Al-Dawahira, in the outskirts of the controlled areas of the factions in the Eastern Ghouta, while the warplanes carried out a raid on areas in Beit Sawa town, which caused material damage, without information about casualties.
