3 civilian casualties and 27 wounded in the aerial and artillery shelling on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus after the UN Security Council’s resolution was issued and the regime forces try to advance in Al-Marj front
Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the regime forces renewed their targeting to the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, leaving, with the warplanes, casualties and wounded again in the besieged Ghouta, which has witnessed since the issuance of the UN Security Council’s resolution last night, until today morning, Sunday the 25th of February 2018, stopping of the bloodshed of the citizens and a cessation of fighting, but the regime forces and warplanes resumed this morning their shelling which resulted in the death and the injury of 30 citizens ant least, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 2 citizens they are: a woman was killed due to shelling by 4 shells on areas in Hamouriyah city and other 7 citizens were injured, and a citizen was killed due to a raid targeted areas in Beit Sawa town and also resulted in the injury of 8 other citizens, while 2 citizen women were injured as a result of the fall of a shell on areas in Kafr Batna town in the Eastern Ghouta, and the warplanes targeted areas in Saqba city by 2 raids, which resulted in the death of a citizen and the injury of 10 others with varying severity, in conjunction with their targeting by a raid to areas in Harasta city, without information about causing casualties so far, and the death toll is expected to increase due to the presence of injured cases in serious conditions.
While the violent clashes are still continuing between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against Jaysh Al-Islam, in areas in the vicinity of Hazrma, Zriqiyyeh and Hosh Al-Dawahira in Al-Marj area, in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, as a part of the continuous clashes accompanied by exchange of targeting in the clash area between the both parties, where Jaysh Al-Islam managed to capture 2 members of the regime forces, while information was reported about human losses in the ranks of the both parties, and the regime forces are trying to achieve advancement in the area from their attacking point in Al-Marj area, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published last night that the warplanes and helicopters of Bashar al-Assad’s regime and its Russian allies, as well as its artilleries and launchers have ended their first week of their vicious campaign on the besieged cities and towns of the eastern Ghouta, where it has increased to 519 citizens including 127 children and 75 women, the number of the civilian casualties who have been killed since Sunday evening the 18th of February 2018, and the casualties are: 41 citizens including 8 children under the age of eighteen, and 8 women were killed today by bombardment by warplanes on Harasta, Douma, Zamalka, Beit Sawa and Al-Shifonyyah, 43 citizens including 18 children and 4 women were killed on Friday, 73 citizens including 9 children and 8 citizen women who were killed on Thursday in bombardment by warplanes on areas in Mesraba and Aftries towns and Douma and Arbin cities, 85 citizens including 20 children and 12 women, were killed on Wednesday in bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels on Kafr Batna town and airstrikes on Jesrin town and raids on Saqba, 133 citizens including 33 children and 17 women were killed on Tuesday, in the shelling on the areas of Nashabiyah, Otaya, Arbin, Zamalka Mesraba, Hamuriya, Saqba and Ash’ari, 127 citizens including 34 children and 23 women were killed on Monday, in the aerial and ground bombardment on Hamuriya, Beit Sawa and Saqba, Douma , Mesraba, Otaya, Nashabiyah, Zamalka, Aftries, KafrBatna, Al-Shifonyyah and Jesrin, 17 citizens including 5 children and 3 women were killed on the evening of Sunday, in aerial, missile and artillery bombardments on Saqba, Mesraba, Otaya and Ashari area, due to intensive aerial, artillery and rocket shelling by about 3940 raids, missiles, explosive barrels and shells, where the warplanes carried out about 629 airstrikes, while the regime’s helicopters dropped more than 232 explosive barrels, and the regime forces shelled the besieged Ghouta by more than 2065 missiles, in conjunction with shelling by about 1014 artillery shells.
