Alertness witnessed in Idlib countryside within the ongoing abolition war in the area between the major factions operating there

The area of Abdin in the west of Khan Shaykhun in the southern section of Idlib countryside, witnessed after the midnight of Monday – Tuesday, violent clashes between Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, where heavy weapons were used in the fighting between the both parties, and no information was reported about casualties or the extent of advancement, sought by both parties, also Al-Dana town in the northern countryside of Idlib, witnessed deployment of heavy vehicles and alertness by Tahrir Al-Sham, in conjunction with alertness by Ahrar Al-Sham in Sarmada, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published last night that it monitored unidentified gunmen assassinating a local commander of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, in the southern countryside of Idlib, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory: unidentified gunmen opened fire on a local commander of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, which killed him immediately, while a situation of alert is rising in the area in conjunction with the continuous clashes in Idlib Province and the western countryside of Idlib, between Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the major faction of the area; against the backdrop of the assassination of Abu Ayman al-Masri about 10 days ago in the western countryside of Aleppo, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also published that the war of abolition between the major factions operating in the Syrian north is witnessing a turning point with the intervention of civilians in this war, after the resentment that was unleashed by this rivalry between Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham against the Movement of Nour al-Din al-Zenki and the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and Soqur al-Sham, in the western countryside of Aleppo and in the countryside of Idlib, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a demonstration in Marshourin which expelled the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham from the town as well as a checkpoint of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham from the town’s surroundings, following an exchange of shelling in the town and its outskirts between both parties, also the people of Atma and Tremaine forced Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham to withdraw from it after the demands by the locals to leave the area, and to keep the people away of this bloody fighting, also citizens of Maarat Herma town demanded the factions to stop the fight and keep the civilians away of it, also Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham has withdrawn from Taqad town in the western countryside of Aleppo; to the vicinity of al-Atareb area in the same countryside, while Ahrar al-Sham, Zenki Movement and Soqur al-Sham have spread in the areas from which Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham has withdrawn, which are Qah, Atma, Turmanin and Bastron and other areas in the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, also the shelling by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham has caused the death of a woman, raising to 15, the number of civilian people who were killed and were documented by the Syrian Observatory -including 6 children and 4 women- during a week of shelling and random shootings in the countryside of both Aleppo and Idlib.

These shifts in the field map coincides with a statement issued by the National Rescue Government, in which it called to stop the clashes between the fighting parties, and resort to the “Sharia of Allah” through a seven-member committee; consists of 2 members of each party and 3 other neutrals members, and releasing all prisoners and detainees in theses clashes, and the elimination of all armed manifestations within the towns and cities and heading to the fronts, and handing over the security in cities and towns to the free police, revolutionary committees and the Ministry of Interior of the Rescue Government, and the call for a general conference in the Syrian Interior includes all parties, also sources from the area confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that this war raged between the opposition Syrian parties; after regime forces led by the Brigadier General in the regime forces Suhail Hassan was headed with the loyal gunmen to Rif Dimashq, in order to carry out a large operation against the factions operating in the Eastern Ghouta, which is witnessing a preliminary bombing and shelling for the 6th day in a row, which caused the death and injury of about 2700 civilians, and after the end of the existence of the “Islamic State” organization in central of Syria, after the surrender of hundreds of ISIS members and their families to Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and factions, and after the factions that used to clash against the regime in the countryside of Idlib headed to the clash fronts south of Afrin, and after the entry of the Turkish columns and establishing points near Idlib, after all that; the arena was emptied for a war and bloody clashes, in which each party seeks to achieve an advancement at the expense of the other, amid shelling, killing and capturing between both parties.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on Monday that Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham managed to advance and take the control of Kharbat Batenta, in the vicinity of Hizano, while the citizens’ resentment is increasing as a result of this fighting, where the people of Maarat Shurin went out in demonstrations calling on the factions to evacuate the town as a result of the random shelling witnessed there, while the clashes are continuing in the western countryside of Aleppo, between Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham against Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, where the members of al-Zenki are continuing their advancement in the area and they took the control of Batbu village and Qalaat Sam’an, after they controlled few hours ago, the important town of Darat Izza, Kafr Nasih and Jabal Sheikh Barakat, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published few hours ago, that Aleppo and Idlib provinces are witnessing continuation of the violent clashes in areas there for the seventh consecutive day within the abolition war between the major factions in Syrian north, where the violent clashes are continuing in the western section of Aleppo countryside, between Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham against Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement and Ahrar Al-Sham, in an attempt by each party to end the presence of the other in the area, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of the clashes between them in the area of Darat Izza in an attempt by al-Zenki to snatch the control of the town from the grip of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, amid advancement by al-Zenki and Ahrar Al-Sham and their control over the important town of Darat Izza, while the clashes are continuing in separated areas in Idlib countryside, between Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham against Soqur Al-Sham and Ahrar Al-Sham, and the clashes between the both parties are concentrated in the north-eastern section of Jabal Shashabo and other areas in the southern countryside of Idlib, in an attack by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham on positions of Ahrar Al-Sham, while the pace of clashes decreased this morning at the entrance and the outskirts of Hazano town in the north of Idlib, which witnessed violent clashes yesterday accompanied by violent and intensive shelling between the both parties in several attempts by Tahrir Al-Sham to control it.

The violent fighting which started on the 20th of February 2018, accompanied by shelling by tanks and mortar shells, and which also targeted residential neighborhoods in the towns and villages which are witnessing clashes between the conflicting factions, raged massive resentment in the area, amid civil calls to stop the fighting and open fronts against the regime forces instead of this fighting which citizens described as free services for their enemies, in addition to calls to stop the random shelling between the conflicting parties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented since the start of fighting on the 20th of February 2018, the death of 156 fighters at least of the conflicting parties in Idlib and Aleppo, where 94 members at least of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham were killed during the shelling and clashes against Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement in the western countryside of Aleppo, and against Ahrar Al-Sham and Soqur Al-Sham in Idlib countryside, and 62 fighters of Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement ,Ahrar Al-Sham and Soqur Al-Sham, who were killed during the shelling and clashes in the area, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of a large number of injuries, some of them have seriously wounded, in addition to information about other casualties the SOHR is not able to document so far.
