Massacre in the Eastern Ghouta takes of lives of 15 civilians raising the death toll to more than 230 since the UN resolution out of 763 casualties killed in the shelling escalation

Regime forces control the first town under the control of Rahman Corps and farms in the center of the Eastern Ghouta

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a new massacre carried out by warplanes believed to be Russian in KafrBatna town, which is controlled by Rahman Corps, where 15 civilians at least were killed and more than 70 others were wounded, and the number of casualties may rise due to the presence of injured people in dangerous situations, and the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 3 persons in the aerial bombardment that targeted Hazza this morning, raising to 5, the number of persons who were killed in a Hazza, which in turn raise to 763, the number of Syrian civilians who were killed in the Eastern Ghouta, including 172 children and 104 women, who have been killed by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, and the shelling during this period which completed 2 weeks since it started, resulted in the injury of more than 3890 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 213 casualties including 35 children and 28 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta.

And the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the bombardment of the warplanes and helicopters as well as the intensive shelling on the Eastern Ghouta, resulted in getting 10 hospitals and medical points out of service as a result of their targeting in Saqba, Douma, Beit Sawa, Jesrin, Arbin and other areas in the Eastern Ghouta, to decrease the ability of medical capacity even more, and crowd the places with the wounded who flock as a result of heavy and ongoing shelling by the regime forces, led by the Brigadier Suhail Al-Hassan.

In the same context, hostilities continue in the Eastern Ghouta with regime forces’ continuation in going deeper into the depth of the Eastern Ghouta, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of violent clashes between Jaysh al-Islam and Rahman Corps against the regime forces supported by the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities in areas in the Eastern Ghouta, where the clashes are concentrated in the south of the Eastern Ghouta and its eastern part, in an attempt by the regime forces to achieve more advancement and reduce the factions’ control in it, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the regime forces achieving a new advancement represented by control Muhammadiyah town, where the clashes are taking place on its outskirts, and this is considered the first town of Rahman Corps controlled by the regime forces after artillery and missile shelling on the town, which caused considerable destruction in it, also the regime forces advanced in al-Rihan farms southeast of Douma, and in the farms located to the east of Mesraba and the outskirts of Beit Sawa and Ashari, extending their control to about 40% of the area of the faction’s controlled areas in the Eastern Ghouta,

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published in the past few hours that the clashes are concentrated on the contact lines between the both parties stretched from the western outskirts of Muhammedia town and the outskirts of Hosh Qubayat and the western outskirts of Al-Ash’ari town reaching to the farms of Beit Sawa, Mesraba, Douma and Al-Rihan, in an attempt by the regime forces under the command of Russian advisers and with the participation of Russian forces, to advance and control more areas, and reach the Vehicle Department to divide the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus into 2 sections, the first is northern one and includes the towns of Douma and Harasta and Al-Rihan farms, while the other on is northern and includes the towns and the cities of Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Saqba, Hazza, Kafr Batna, Ein Tarma, Muhammedia and Aftries, after the regime forces managed since they started their attack on the 25th of February 2018, to take the control of Nashabiyah, Hazrama, Hosh Al-Dawahra, Hosh Al-Zriqiyyeh, Tallat Farzat, Al-Shifonyyah, parts of Al-Rihan farms and the Air Defense Regiment and the Regiment 274, reaching Beit Sawa Farms and Al-Ash’ari Farms and reaching the eastern outskirts of Hosh Qubayat and Muhammedia in the eastern and the south-eastern countryside of the besieged Ghouta of Damascus.
