Russia and Turkey move simultaneously towards the destruction of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and Afrin and clamp down on more than 1,400,000 citizens in them

Amid a disgusting international silence…more than 2100 civilian casualties and wounded fell in Afrin and the besieged Ghouta during 10 days after the futile resolution of the UNSC was issued

Two similar killers share the killing of the Syrians in two Syrian areas, by the same way and technique, depend on escalating the killing against the besieged Syrian people or those fleeing from death, disregarding the UNSC resolutions, all of this taking place amid a disgusting international silence, increasing the tragic situations of the Syrian people, and allowing the death to claim the lives of the Syrian people besieged or fled from death and chase them in the Eastern Ghouta and Afrin from a house to another and from a village to another without giving them a chance to catch their breath, which is already exhausted due to the sieges and killing and the death roaming around them by air and land.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored since the UNSC resolution was issued in the evening of the 24th of February 2018, that the killing has been continuing without stopping, in Both the Eastern Ghouta and Afrin, and Putin’s truce in Ghouta is only breaks between the conflicting parties, as murderers have never stopped killing even during the time of the truce’s validity, where the UNSC resolution followed by violent ground attack by the regime forces and their allies, led by the Brigadier Suhail Al-Hassan and Russian officers and advisers, to snatch during 10 days after the futile resolution of the UNSC was issued, about 40% of the factions’ controlled areas in the Eastern Ghouta, through taking the control of Nashabiyah, Hazrama, Hosh Al-Dawahra, Hosh Al-Zriqiyyeh, Tallat Farzat, Hosh Qubayat, Muhammedia, Al-Rihan farms and the Air Defense Regiment and the Regiment 274, reaching Beit Sawa Farms and Al-Ash’ari Farms and Mesraba Farms approaching Douma city and the Vehicle Department, seeking -the regime forces- in the same time to divide the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus into 2 parts, one of which includes the towns of Douma and Harasta and Al-Rihan farms, while the other includes towns and the cities controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, and this advancement accompanied by intensive bombardment by explosive barrels dropped by helicopters and the missiles fired by warplanes as well as the missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, rocket, artillery shells and the tanks and mortar shells, resulted in the death and the injury of hundreds of citizens, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented since the 25th of February 2018, the death of 260 citizens including 38 children under the age of eighteen and 31 women, while more than 1475 others where injured including hundreds of children and citizen women, with varying severity, also hundreds of houses, shops, medical centers and hospitals were damaged and destroyed, as a result of this shelling which resulted in the same time, in successive displacement of thousands of Syrian citizens from areas near the battle fronts where the regime forces pave by the intensive shelling, and the areas the regime forces controlled, towards areas far from the recent battle fronts, amid poor and tragic humanitarian reality, witnessed in the Eastern Ghouta, with its population of more than 400 thousand citizens, most of whom do not almost leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling which went deep in killing the Syrian people and destroying houses on their inhabitants.

This scene in the Eastern Ghouta which has been besieged for years, and which the disease, hunger and shelling have claimed the lives of many of its residents, is correspond to a similar scene in Afrin area, which includes more than one million people, of the residents of the area or those who have displaced to it in the past few years, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a violent aerial and ground attack by the Turkish forces backed by the Syrian rebel and Islamic opposition factions, which used to be fully controlled by the YPG, as a part of a military operation the Turkish forces called as Operation “Olive Branch”, which aims to tack the control of the entire area of Afrin, thus, Turkey tended to use a technique similar to that Russian one, where they escalated their military operations in the area, neglecting as well, the UNSC resolutions, as the Turkish intensive aerial and artillery shelling escalated, to escalate the killing again, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored since the 25th of February 2018, until today the 6th of March 2018, that the Turkish forces managed to take the control of 34 towns and villages including Raju, Sheikh Hadid and large parts of Sharra, with a percentage of about 10% of the total villages and towns of Afrin area, and became at a distance of about 10 km away from the important city of Afrin, and completed their control over the entire border line surrounding Afrin, from the north and the west with Turkey, while the SOHR documented the death of 56 citizens including 6 children and 7 citizen women, and the injury of more than 320 others with varying severity, including tens of children and women.

This fearful escalation in the killing, increased the fears of many Syrian citizens, of this war which is taking place in the areas of besieged Eastern Ghouta and Afrin which is near to be besieged, under the sight of the international community which shut its eyes to all of that killing and destruction, and which does not dare to take a serious step and stand against the attacking countries and the murderers of the Syrian people, thus, fears increased of massacres and exterminations that would claim the lives of more of the citizens who confined in narrower limit than before. In the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and of massacres and exterminations against the people of Afrin and those who have displaced to it, who are displacing now from one place to another, with the continuation of the bombardment and killing against them, amid approaching to impose a siege by the Turkish forces on more than one million people live in this area, amid significant difficulties about the displacement of the citizens from Afrin area to the regime’s controlled areas in Aleppo, where the checkpoints of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them impose tributes range from 1000$ to 2200$ on a single person, in return for allowing him cross towards Aleppo city, amid fear of trapping more than one million people of the residents of Afrin area and those who have displaced to it during the past few months and years from different Syrian areas.
