The Turkish killing continues against people of Afrin area and raises to 175; the number of civilian casualties since the start of Operation “Olive Branch”

The Turkish Force approach Midanki Dam aka “17 Nisan” and continue their operations with the opposition Syrian factions to achieve more advancement in the area

Aleppo Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Turkish aerial and ground bombardments and shelling continue on Afrin area, within the escalation of the Turkish Forces in an attempt by them to pave the way for their forces to achieve further advancement, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored targeting by the Turkish warplanes on a medical center in the southwest of Jendires town, coincided with Turkish artillery shelling on areas in villages in Maabatli Township “Mabata” which is located in northwest of Afrin, and the shelling caused the death of 2 citizens in Maabatli Township, and killed one of the medical staff members in Jendires, also others were injured with varying severity, raising to 175 Syrian citizens of the Kurds, Arabs and Armenians, including 29 children and 25 women, who were killed in the Turkish aerial, rocket and artillery shelling, and executions carried out against citizens in Afrin area, since the 20th of January 2018, while hundreds others were injured with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the SOHR documented the death of 59 citizens including 6 children and 7 citizen women, and the injury of more than 337 others with varying severity, including tens of children and women.

In the same context, the violent clashes continue between YPG and SDF against the Turkish Forces and the rebel and Islamic factions, in areas in the northeastern countryside of Afrin, during which the Operation “Olive Branch” was able to achieve an advancement in the area, and controlled heights overlook on Qatma area, and the Turkish Forces after advancing in Sharra Township and its areas; have become hundreds of meters away of Midanki Dam aka “17 Nisan”, which is of a strategic importance to the area, which was previously subjected to Turkish aerial bombardments that caused damage to the dam area, which is located about 10 km away of Afrin city.

And the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored a violent aerial and ground attack by the Turkish forces backed by the Syrian rebel and Islamic opposition factions, which used to be fully controlled by the YPG, as a part of a military operation the Turkish forces called as Operation “Olive Branch”, which aims to tack the control of the entire area of Afrin, thus, Turkey tended to use a technique similar to that Russian one, where they escalated their military operations in the area, neglecting as well, the UNSC resolutions, as the Turkish intensive aerial and artillery shelling escalated, to escalate the killing again, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored since the 25th of February 2018, until today the 6th of March 2018, that the Turkish forces managed to take the control of 34 towns and villages including Raju, Sheikh Hadid and large parts of Sharra, with a percentage of about 10% of the total villages and towns of Afrin area, and became at a distance of about 10 km away from the important city of Afrin, and completed their control over the entire border line surrounding Afrin, from the north and the west with Turkey.
