Renewed airstrikes with ground shelling target areas in the Eastern Ghouta amid continued clashes in the area

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored renewed aerial bombardments during the evening hours, targeted several areas in the Eastern Ghouta, where the shelling by barrel bombs which were dropped by helicopter and warplanes in conjunction with the missile and artillery shelling on areas in Mesraba town, of which the regime forces are trying to control in order to reach the Vehicle Department, and imposing firearm-control on Madyara, also the aerial bombardment targeted areas on the contact lines between the regime forces and the factions in the Eastern Ghouta, while the clashes continue between the regime forces supported by gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities; against fighters of Rahman Corps and Jaysh al-Islam in the center and south of the Eastern Ghouta, with the continuation of regime forces’ operations to achieve advancement in the area and control more areas, after the regime forces have taken control of about 40% of the factions’ controlled areas in the Eastern Ghouta since the 25th of February 2018, by controlling all of Hosh of Al-Dawahra, Hosh al-Zriqiyyeh, Tal Farzat, al-Nashabiyah, Hazrma, Muhammadiyah, Hosh Qubaybat, and the farms of Al-Rihan, Beit Sawa, Ashari and Mesraba, and getting closer to Douma city and the Vehicle Department, where the regime forces are aiming at the same time to split the Eastern Ghouta into 2 sections, one of them contains Douma, Harasta and al-Rihan farms, and the other on contains cities and towns under the control of Rahman Corps.

The Syrian Observatory published hours ago that it rose to 24 at least including 5 children and 2 women, the number of people whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory of who were killed by aerial bombardment on Harasta, Jesrin, Ein Tarma and Arbin and in shelling on Beit Sawa town, while the Syrian Observatory had the death of 6 citizens including a child, they died affected by their injuries and their bodies were recovered from beneath the rubble caused by the aerial bombardment in KafrBatna yesterday.

Raising to 805, the number of Syrian civilians who were killed in the Eastern Ghouta, including 178 children and 108 women, who have been killed by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, and the shelling during this period which completed 2 weeks since it started, resulted in the injury of about 4000 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 273 casualties including 41 children and 32 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
