Hysterical shelling targets Madyara as a part of the continuous efforts of the regime forces and their allies to divide the Eastern Ghouta

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the military operations are continuing in the depth of the Eastern Ghouta, as the regime forces backed by their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and under the command of Russian officers and military advisers, are continuing their attempts to take the control of Madyara town, where the clashes are continuing between them against the fighters of Jaysh Al-Islam and Al-Rahman Corps, in conjunction with the “Burned Land” technique which the regime forces follow through the hysterical bombardment by warplanes and helicopters as well as the rocket and ground shelling, and the regime forces are seeking through taking the control of Madyara town to meet with their forces in the Vehicle Department and divide Ghouta into 2 parts effectually after they divided it yesterday only by firearm. In the same context, several families face unknown destiny under the rubble of the destruction caused by the bombardment yesterday and the day before yesterday, which targeted the towns of Hamouriyah, Jisrayn, Kafr Batna and Saqba, because it is difficult to relief the wounded and save the people stuck under the rubble, as the ambulances are out of service in most of these areas and due to the ongoing shelling on the area.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published few hours ago, that it documented the death of 7 persons at least and the injury of more than 26 others as a result of several raids carried out by warplanes today morning on places in Zamalka town in the western section of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, it is noteworthy that the cities and towns of Arbin, Kafr Batna, Zamalka and other areas in the western section of the Eastern Ghouta, have been witnessing since morning, ongoing displacement to them of 10 thousand citizens from the towns of Mesraba and Madyara as a result of the military operations carrying out by the regime forces which are accompanied by intensive aerial and rocket shelling that does not almost stop, also the clashes are continuing in the depth of the Eastern Ghouta, between Jaysh Al-Islam and Al-Rahman Corps against the regime forces backed by their allies of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities and under the command of Russian officers and military advisers, within ongoing attempts by the latter to achieve further advancement and control new areas under a cover of intensive and violent shelling by air and land, and in the same context, it has increased to 11 including a child, the number of people killed yesterday in bombardment on Jisrayn town, raising to 95 including 10 children and 8 women, the number of people killed by the shelling and bombardment of the regime forces and the warplanes and helicopters on the cities and towns of the Eastern Ghouta.

Raising to 909, the number of Syrian civilians who were killed in the Eastern Ghouta, including 188 children and 116 women, who have been killed by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, and the shelling during this period which completed 2 weeks since it started, resulted in the injury of more than 4150 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 377 casualties including 47 children and 36 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
