The escalation of the violent clashes in the Eastern Ghouta and the new advancement of the regime forces with the heavy shelling have killed and wounded about 70 people during daylight hours

Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: regime’s helicopters and warplanes have re-bombed areas in the Eastern Ghouta again, in the wake of a calm in the area since yesterday night, followed by aerial and missile bombardment targeted Douma and Jesrin in the Ghouta before the afternoon of today and caused 6 casualties and about 15 wounded in Jesrin, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored since afternoon of today the helicopters dropping barrel bombs on areas in Mesraba, which wounded 25 citizens at least, while warplanes targeted areas in Harasta city by 7 airstrikes and wounded about 10 people, while the regime forces shelled areas in Madyara by tens of artillery and rocket shells, in conjunction with 10 raids at least targeted areas in the town, while areas in the cities of Arbin and Harasta were shelled which injured at least 12 citizen, also regime’s helicopters dropped 7 barrel bombs on areas in Douma city but no information about casualties.

In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the renewal of clashes in a violent pace between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities led by Russian officers; against fighters of Jaysh al-Islam and Rahman Corps, in areas at al-Aftries farms and other farms west of al-Muhammadiyah and other areas near Hamouriyah city, in an attempt by the regime forces to achieve an advancement in the area, where the Syrian Observatory learned that the regime forces managed to advance and control the Air Defense Battalion near al-Aftries, amid information about more casualties in the ranks of both parties.

The Syrian Observatory published hours ago that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 6 citizens at least as a result of the shelling that targeted today before noon, areas in Jesrin controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, raising to 948 the number of Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 195 children and 128 women, who have been killed by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, and the shelling during this period which completed 2 weeks since it started, resulted in the injury of more than 4320 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 416 casualties including 54 children and 45 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
