About 1000 civilian casualties including about 350 children and women killed by the aerial and ground shelling in 3 consecutive weeks in the Eastern Ghouta

The regime forces under a Russian command approach a new area of the Vehicle Department and seek to tear the Eastern Ghouta apart and separate Douma

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the violent fighting renewed between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the fighters of Al-Rahman Corps, in areas in the farms of Jesrin and the vicinity of the town, and other areas in Aftries Farms, in a renewed attempt by the regime forces to achieve further advancement in the area, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored shelling by the regime forces by tens of rocket shells on the clash areas, while the clash areas were bombed by warplanes and helicopters, also areas in Mesraba town and Madyara are witnessing renewed bombardment by warplanes and helicopters, while violent clashes are taking lace between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the fighters of Jaysh Al-Islam, in areas in the east and the north of the Vehicle Department, and the SOHR learned that the regime forces managed to advance and take the control of large parts of Mesraba town, and also advanced into the farms between Douma and Harasta in an attempt to separate Douma from Harasta, and tear the Eastern Ghouta apart, and isolate Douma, the stronghold of Jaysh Al-Islam, from rest areas of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the number of human losses increased in the ranks of the rebel and Islamic factions and in the ranks of the regime forces, where it has increased to 118 fighters at least of Jaysh Al-Islam and the rebel and Islamic factions operating in the Eastern Ghouta, during exchange of targeting and shelling, including military and field commanders, while the SOHR documented the death of 146members at least of the regime forces including officers, who have been killed during 2 weeks of the military operations witnessed in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, since the attack of the regime forces led by Russian officers and military advisers on the 25th of February 2018.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the number of casualties has increased to 976 Syrian civilians in the Eastern Ghouta, including 208 children and 136 women, who have been killed by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, and the shelling during this period which completed 2 weeks since it started, resulted in the injury of more than 4350 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 444 casualties including 67 children and 53 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
