More than 16000 displaced persons from Afrin live tragic humanitarian conditions in Nubl and Zahra and hundreds of thousands of others suffer the same in Afrin city and its surroundings

Aleppo Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the military operations of “Olive Branch” Operation Forces continue in Afrin area in the northwestern countryside of Aleppo, amid growing tragedy for hundreds of thousands of citizens who suffer from Turkish cutting of water, communications and electricity, and the Syrian Observatory for human rights monitored hundreds of people from Afrin area displacing to the towns of Nubl and al-Zahraa in the northern countryside of Aleppo, and in the past 24 hours more than 2000 civilians have reached both towns, including hundreds of children and female citizens, and rising at the same time to over 16000, the number of displaced civilians who reached Nubl and Zahra during the past few days, as a result of the violence escalation of the Turkish shelling and military operations in the area, while the people who remained in Afrin are living tragic humanitarian conditions, they are estimated at hundreds of thousands, and who displaced to Nubl and Zahra as a result of the difficulty of securing housing and shelter for all displaced persons.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also learned that the violent clashes are still taking place between the Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions; against YPG and forces of the Self-Defense in areas in the northwestern and southwestern countryside of Afrin, where the clashes are concentrated in the west and north of Jandairis area and in other areas in Maabatli Township, amid advancement by the factions and their control of more villages; extending their control at the expense of the Kurdish Forces, and the clashes are accompanied by the flying of Turkish warplanes in the sky of the area and the shelling exchange in areas in the countryside of Afrin.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published today morning, Monday, that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the Turkish forces backed by their allied rebel and Islamic factions, managed to control more than 60% of the total geographical area of Afrin until now, and managed to reach the outskirts of the city from both northern and eastern sides, while they became at a distance of about 4 km away from the south-west of the city, in conjunction with their advancement in the villages in the north-western countryside of Afrin and their control over more of them, and the townships of Bulbula, Jandairis and Maabatli, witnessed renewed shelling by the Turkish artillery, today morning the 12th of March 2018, in conjunction with the Turkish warplanes’ bombardment on the area.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored last night that fears have increased over the lives of civilians with the escalation of the Turkish attack accompanied by the missiles of warplanes and helicopters, as well as the shells of their artilleries and rocket launchers, which do not almost stop to destroy Afrin, and the areas that are still under the control of the Kurdish forces, and this fear of shelling, was accompanied by another fear expressed among hundreds of thousands of citizens who are still in the YPG-held areas, of the videos which the SOHR obtained a copy of them, and which show fighters of Operation “Olive Branch” threatening the inhabitants of Afrin, directing their message through one of the fighters who said “to the Kurdish infidels, we inform you that if you turn to God in repentance, you have to know that you are our brothers, but if you do not, then we see your heads have been ripe and we have come to pick them up”, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights mentioned that the video is likely to be filmed in the Sheikh Hadid area in the western countryside of Afrin, from one of the villages controlled by Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions.
