After threatening of beheading, “Olive Branch” fighters call for settling displaced Syrians in the villages of Afrin

A new Syrian tragedy increase the suffering of civilians and the humanitarian condition is worsening in a new Syrian area, similar to the rest of the Syrian areas, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the tragedy of the Syrian citizens in Afrin area. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained pictures showing tens of civilians sheltering in caves in mountains located in the southwestern countryside of Afrin, after they were displaced from Jandayras area remained under the control of the YPG, where several reliable sources stressed to the SOHR that these citizens couldn’t be able to continue their course towards areas far from the battlefields, as result of the Turkish warplanes which are flying over the area and shelling places in the area, in addition to the artillery and aerial shelling on the area.

The SOHR obtained a copy of a video shot by a member of “Olive Branch” Operation Forces, in which he said that he is in Al-Shiekh Hadid town, which was confirmed by sourced to the Observatory. The fighter said in this video: “this is the fully liberated Sheikh Hadid free of separatist terrorist, and I urge the brothers and displaced people, who were displaced from Al-Raqqa, Al-Tabqa and other areas controlled by the separatist betrayals, to come and take a house with an olive land”. This video comes after other videos obtained by the SOHR which show fighters of Operation “Olive Branch” threatening the inhabitants of Afrin, directing their message through one of the fighters who said “to the Kurdish infidels, we inform you that if you turn to God in repentance, you have to know that you are our brothers, but if you do not, then we see your heads have been ripe and we have come to pick them up”, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights mentioned that the video is likely to be filmed in the Sheikh Hadid area in the western countryside of Afrin, from one of the villages controlled by Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions. Afrin area has witnessed similar calls from other to settle Syrian people displaced from other provinces inside these villages.

Meanwhile, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units warned in a statement of approaching the properties of citizens in the villages that came under the control by the Turkish forces and the “Olive Branch” operation factions, considering all areas that have been controlled by the Turkish forces as targets. The statement reads: ” we the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) assert that all areas the fascist aimed at turning them to settlements has been and remains military areas and battlefields in which military operations are taking place daily, and we warn all those involved from approaching these area, where they will be a legitimate target to our fighters. We also call on who have been brought to the area not to be fooled by the Turkish games and we warn them of cooperating with the Turkish fascist in achieving their hostile aims against the people of the area, as their settlement in these area is illegal and illegitimate, as well as violation to the International humanitarian laws and occupation, to which our fighters has the right to respond”.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions managed to achieve advancement in the area, where they managed to advance into the south of Afrin coming from Jendires area, towards the areas they advanced into in the East of Afrin city, where the SOHR published 72 hours ago that the Turkish forces are seeking to besiege Afrin city by advancing from the east and southwest of Afrin and meet, to complete the siege of Afrin city and surrounding villages and the villages that are still under the control of the Kurdish Forces in Afrin countryside, and separate them from the rest of the Syrian areas completely.

This advancement the Turkish forces achieved, did not result in meeting with their forces coming from the south until now, but the area separating between them is being monitored by firearm, by the Turkish forces and their allied factions, thus, they managed to impose their military and firearm siege over Afrin city, and separate it from the rest Syrian areas, as well as the villages related to it from both western and north-western sides, reaching to the villages related to Maabatli town within this besieged circle, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes carried out several strikes this morning, targeting the vicinity of Afrin city, in conjunction with targeting by the Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions to each move to Afrin or coming out from it, in an attempt to clamp down on the city even more, where local sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that people were shot while they were fleeing from Afrin city today morning, towards the towns of Nubl and Al-Zahraa, where they paid large sums to smugglers for reaching them to the towns of Nubl and Al-Zahraa which more than 16 thousand citizens have displaced to during the past few days.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored yesterday that hundreds of people from Afrin area displacing to the towns of Nubl and al-Zahraa in the northern countryside of Aleppo, and in the past 24 hours more than 2000 civilians have reached both towns, including hundreds of children and female citizens, and rising at the same time to over 16000, the number of displaced civilians who reached Nubl and Zahra during the past few days, as a result of the violence escalation of the Turkish shelling and military operations in the area, while the people who remained in Afrin are living tragic humanitarian conditions, they are estimated at hundreds of thousands, and who displaced to Nubl and Zahra as a result of the difficulty of securing housing and shelter for all displaced persons.

Pictures of the SOHR showing the tragic humanitarian conditions of people displaced from Jandairis area in the southwest countryside of Afrin towards caves in the mountains located north of Jandairis as they are unable to continue moving towards safe places as result of ongoing shelling on Afrin countryside and the ongoing flying Turkish warplanes in the sky of the areas.
