The regime forces and warplanes carry out violent and intensive attack by missiles and shells on areas controlled by Ahrar Al-Sham and Al-Rahman Corps and kill and injure more than 50 citizens
Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the explosions returned to rock the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, targeting again areas in the two pockets controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam and Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes targeted areas in Jisrayn town by 4 raids, which resulted in the death of a citizen and the injury of 15 others, with varying severity, while the warplanes targeted areas in Harasta city by more than 22 raids, in conjunction with shelling by more than 30 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, on areas in the same city, which caused material damage and destruction to the infrastructure and to the property of the citizens, while both cities of Saqba and Hamouriyah are witnessing intensive and violent aerial and ground shelling, where warplanes believed to be Russian, targeted areas in the both cities by more than 24 raids, in conjunction with intensive rocket and artillery shelling on areas in the both cities, which resulted in the injury of more than 37 persons, while there are a large number of citizens who are still stuck in the buildings subjected to the shelling, amid difficulty to reach them as a result of the intensive shelling which are continuing to target the both cities, and the SOHR learned that one of these strikes targeted parts in Saqba Civil Defense Center, which led it to be out of service.
Thus, the death toll during the past 24 hours increased to 24 casualties including 2 children and a citizen woman, while the number of wounded increased again to more than 200 citizens including tens of children and citizen women, in the first 24 hours during which more than 150 citizens were evacuated from Douma city controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam through Al-Wafideen Camp to shelters in areas controlled by the regime forces in Rif Dimashq, raising to 1205, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 246 children and 165 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 4720 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 673 casualties including 105 children and 82 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
