Tens of air and artillery strikes continue on Douma and Harasta leave 6 casualties, mostly children and women
Rif Dimashq Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the aerial and missile shelling continue intensively on the northern part of the Eastern Ghouta, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the warplane carrying out more than 17 airstrikes on places in Douma city, which is under the control of Jaysh Islam, in conjunction with the dropping more barrel bombs by helicopters on areas in the city, accompanied by the fall of tens of shells and rockets on the city and its outskirts, where the heavy shelling on Douma killed a man and a woman; and injured others with varying wounds, also warplanes carried out this Sunday evening several raids on areas in Harasta city, coincided with the launch of more than 35 missiles believed to be ground-to-ground by the regime forces on Harasta, which caused the death of 4 persons: 2 children and 2 women.
In the same context, violent clashes continues violently in the east and south of Douma city, between Jaysh al-Islam against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationality, in a continuous attack Jaysh al-Islamic in order to advance in towards Mesraba, and the clashes were accompanied by violent exchange of shelling between both parties and information about more casualties in their ranks.
Raising to 1409 Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 278 children and 178 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5200 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 877 casualties including 137 children and 95 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
