Intensive aerial and artillery shelling targets several areas in the Eastern Ghouta and the number of casualties increases to more than 1420 citizens

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the warplanes and helicopters are continuing their targeting to the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored intensive shelling by the regime forces on places in Douma area, by rocket and artillery shells, which resulted in the injury of about 20persons with varying severity, while the warplanes bombed areas in Ein Tarma town, which injured 15 others with varying severity, and the warplanes also targeted Zamalka and Hazza by more than 15 raids, which caused material damage, without information about casualties, also warplanes and helicopters targeted yesterday after the midnight and this dawn, areas in Ein Tarma town in the south-western sector of the Eastern Ghouta controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, by several raids and explosive barrels, which resulted in the death of a man and a child in addition to the fall of wounded, also the warplanes bombed areas in Arbin city yesterday at midnight, which resulted in the death of 3 persons of one family including 2 brothers, and the helicopters dropped more explosive barrels on areas in Douma city after the midnight of Sunday – Monday, in conjunction with intensive shelling by the regime forces which targeted the city, while it has increased to 9 including 2 children and 2 citizen women, the number of people killed as a result of the heavy aerial and ground shelling which targeted Douma city controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam yesterday Sunday.

 

Raising to 1421, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 281 children and 179 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5240 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 889 casualties including 140 children and 96 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.

 

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that negotiations are still underway with Rahman Corps to reach an announcement of the agreement of which its terms are to be agreed upon, where the agreement require the transfer of Rahman Corps from the southwest of the Eastern Ghouta to the north of Syria, after the eastern Ghouta has witnessed the exit of thousands of civilians during the past few hours, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the exit of thousands of citizens since this morning, the 18thof March 2018, after the exit of more than 65000 civilians from the southwest enclave of the Eastern Ghouta, which is controlled by Rahman Corps, and the exit of civilians today, Sunday, took place in conjunction with the calm that prevailed the Ghouta, along with the fly of warplanes in the sky and the fall of shells on areas in Ein Tarma town, and according to information obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, this calmness comes in time where it is awaited for the declaration of the agreement that is supposed to have been reached, between Rahman Corps and the Russian side, to get the fighters of Rahman Corps out of the Eastern Ghouta to the north of Syria, where Rahman Corps still controls Arbin, Zamalka and Ein Tarma and parts of Jobar neighborhood.
