In conjunction with the displacement of more than 4000 citizens… an attack by the factions in the south-western enclave of the Eastern Ghouta and the enclave of Jaysh Al-Islam with shelling raises the number of the civilian casualties
Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the displacement of more citizens from the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, towards the regime’s controlled areas, through Hamouriyah crossing, coming from the south-western enclave of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the displacement of more than 4000 citizens from the Eastern Ghouta, within the continuation of the displacement of citizens towards the regime’s controlled areas, in conjunction with anticipations for reaching an agreement with Al-Rahman Corps, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that clashes took place today, Monday the 19th of March 2018, between Jaysh Al-Islam against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, in areas in the vicinity of Douma from the side of Mesraba, as a result of a new attack by the fighters of Jaysh Al-Islam on the area, in an attempt to achieve advancement in the area, and regain the control of the areas it lost, in conjunction with violent clashes between Al-Rahman Corps and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, as a result of an attack by the former on Kafr Batna town, in the last attempt to achieve advancement, and the clashes were accompanied by detonating a booby trapped vehicle by Tahrir Al-Sham, targeting the regime forces and factions in Kafr Batna and Saqba that turned to be popular communities affiliated to the regime forces, amid exchange of targeting between the both parties, and information about confirmed human losses in the ranks of the both parties.
In the same context, places in Douma area and the outskirts of Arbin city, as well as other areas in Hazza town and other places in Douma area, are witnessing rocket and artillery shelling which targeted the area, resulting in the death of more citizens, where it has increased to 8 at least including a child, the number of casualties who were killed today in Arbin, Ein Tarma and Douma, thus, it has increased to 1424, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 281 children and 179 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5240 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 892 casualties including 140 children and 96 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that negotiations are still underway with Rahman Corps to reach an announcement of the agreement of which its terms are to be agreed upon, where the agreement require the transfer of Rahman Corps from the southwest of the Eastern Ghouta to the north of Syria, after the eastern Ghouta has witnessed the exit of thousands of civilians during the past few hours, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the exit of thousands of citizens since this morning, the 18thof March 2018, after the exit of more than 65000 civilians from the southwest enclave of the Eastern Ghouta, which is controlled by Rahman Corps, and the exit of civilians today, Sunday, took place in conjunction with the calm that prevailed the Ghouta, along with the fly of warplanes in the sky and the fall of shells on areas in Ein Tarma town, and according to information obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, this calmness comes in time where it is awaited for the declaration of the agreement that is supposed to have been reached, between Rahman Corps and the Russian side, to get the fighters of Rahman Corps out of the Eastern Ghouta to the north of Syria, where Rahman Corps still controls Arbin, Zamalka and Ein Tarma and parts of Jobar neighborhood.
