Tens of aerial and rocket strikes target Douma for the second consecutive day and raise the number of casualties to 20 in less than 24 hours

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the warplanes are continuing their intensive bombardment on Douma city controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where it has increased to 64 at least, the number of raids that targeted places in the city from the early morning and until now, and the ongoing shelling resulted in the fall of more casualties, raising to 7 persons including a child and 2 citizen women, the number of casualties who were killed today as a result of this intensive bombardment on Douma, raising in turn to 12 including 2 children and 2 citizen women, the number of casualties who were killed today as a result of the bombardment on Arbin, Ein Tarma and Douma, and the casualties include 3 persons of one family, the bombardment is also continuing on places in Hazza and Ein Tarma, and in the same context, the violent clashes are still continuing in areas in the vicinity ofDouma from the side of Mesraba, between Jaysh Al-Islam against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, in a renewed attack for the second consecutive day by Jaysh Al-Islam, on the other hand, the clashes are continuing in an escalated way in Kafr Batna area, within an ongoing attack carried out by Al-Rahman Corps and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham on positions of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, which was started by detonating a booby trapped vehicle by Tahrir Al-Sham, targeting the regime forces and factions in Kafr Batna and Saqba that turned into popular communities affiliated to the regime forces.

Raising to 1428, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 282 children and 181 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5240 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 896 casualties including 141 children and 98 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
