After the martyrdom of 75 civilians in less than 72 hours, Douma witness calm and awaits the implementation of the unannounced displacement along with the displacement of hundreds of families from Harasta
Rif Dimashq province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: the SOHR monitored cautious calm prevailing the city of Douma controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam in the Eastern Ghouta, after heavy aerial and rocket shelling in the city and its vicinity which were targeted by hundreds of airstrikes and barrel bombs, shells and missiles since the 18th of March, which caused the martyrdom of at least 75 persons, and the injury of tens of people with different severity, some of whom are in serious conditions, they were killed as result of aerial shelling on the city and its vicinity, and cautious calm is prevailing on the clash areas in the vicinity of Douma city following violent clashes that took place over the past few days in attempts by Jaysh Al-Islam to advance towards Misraba. The halting of military operation comes within the negotiations taking place between the Russian on one hand and Jaysh Al-Islam on the other, while hundreds of families are still displacing from the Eastern Ghouta, where about 140 families left Harasta this morning towards the regime’s controlled areas, rising to about 75 thousand civilians, those who were displaced from the areas controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam, Al-Rahman Corps, Ahrar al-Sham in the Eastern Ghouta, and the hundreds of families are supposed to got displaced through Al-Wafdeen camp to the regime’s controlled areas through unannounced agreement.
Meanwhile, warplanes carried out several airstrikes on the town of Zamlka and Ein Tarma located in the southwestern part of the Eastern Ghouta, and it also has increased to 6 people including a child and a woman, the death toll of those who were killed by airstrikes on Ein Tarma.
while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented that the number of civilian casualties rose to 1532 Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 314 children and 192 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5370 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 1000 casualties including 173 children and 109 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries.
