There is no truth about the return of 40 thousand citizens to the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus after the regime forces regained the control of the entire Eastern Ghouta with the exception of Douma

A number of sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the news published by the official media of the regime and other loyalists about the return of about 40 thousand citizens to the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, is not true, where the SOHR monitored the return of hundreds of families to their cities and towns which they displaced from in the past months and years, while about 40 thousand citizens remained in the towns of Kafr Batna, Ein Tarma, Saqba and Harasta which the regime forces controlled, and those people did not displace from them, and stayed after the regime forces controlled these areas, and refused to displace from them to the Syrian North or to shelters in the regime’s controlled areas, but they preferred to stay in their homes within the areas controlled by the regime forces after the operation which started on the 25th of February 2018, which enabled the regime forces until now to regain about 94% of the total are of the Eastern Ghouta, which is fully controlled by the regime forces with the exception of Douma area, which is controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam.

 

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on Saturday, that after the departure of the eighth and final batch of the displaced people from the central part of the Eastern Ghouta,, the regime forces became in control of 94% of the area of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the SPHR also published that it has increased to 195400 persons, the number of people displaced from the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, towards the Syrian North and to the regime’s controlled areas, including people stayed in the areas that the regime forces controlled within the Eastern Ghouta, in the enclave controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, and in the details documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights; the number of people got out through the crossings towards the regime’s controlled areas exceeded 108 thousand citizens, including 22 thousand left Douma, while about 40 thousand citizens stayed in the towns of Kafr Batna, Ein Tarma, Saqba and Harasta which the regime forces controlled, also about 46400 persons have displaced to the Syrian North they are: 5 thousand persons have displaced to the Syrian North from Harasta city which used to be controlled by Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement, and about 41400 persons including more than 12 thousand fighters of the Islamic factions of who have displaced from Zamalka, Arbin and Jobar controlled by Al-Rahman Corps to the Syrian North.
