After a long travel and despite the prior agreement… the first convoy of the displaced people of Douma is stopped after it reached the outskirts of the controlled areas of the “Euphrates Shield” and negotiations are underway to let it enter
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the arrival of the first convoy which departed from Douma yesterday, Monday the 2nd of March 2018, in its destination, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the first convoy has arrived at the outskirts of the controlled areas of the forces of the “Euphrates Shield” Operation, in the north-eastern sector of Aleppo countryside, after a trip lasted for about 15 consecutive hours, but it has not entered these areas until now, where sources within the convoy confirmed to the Syrian Observatory, that the convoy is still suspended until now, and the reasons of suspending the convoy and preventing it to enter the area are not known until now, despite the prior agreement to let it enter the area, where the batch includes more than 21 buses carrying about 1150 persons of fighters and their families and other citizens, and includes more than 700 children and citizen women, who came out rejecting the agreement between Jaysh Al-Islam and the Russian forces, and it is expected that the convoy will arrive soon in its destination, while the second convoy is being prepared slowly in Douma city, as a result of the presence of conflicts inside Jaysh Al-Islam about the exit of citizens from the area, where about 20 buses entered Douma city few hours ago, and only a quarter of them came out to the outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta, until the convoy has been completed in order to depart towards the same destination, which was agreed in he text of Jaysh Al-Islam agreement with the Russian forces.
Where Jaish Al-Islam agreement reached with the Russian included items as follows: settling the situation of the people remained in Douma and the exit of those who refuse the agreement to Jarabulus and Al-Bab area in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, forming a team work headed by Russia includes representatives of the Syrian side and the countries guaranteeing Astana process to arrange the handing over of kidnapped civilians and military personnel and the dead bodies of the regime force captured by Jaish Al-Sham, handing over heavy and medium weapons of Jaish Al-Islam, deployment of military police in Douma and prevent the presence of light arms, forming local council in Douma city with consensus between the controllers of Douma and the regime authority, and the return of the government institution to work in Douma city.
