After bringing reinforcements to the area…a squadron of warplanes and helicopters with the regime forces bombe cities, towns and villages in the northern countryside of Homs intensively
Homs Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: areas in the northern countryside of Homs have been witnessing intensive aerial and rocket shelling since early dawn of Monday the 30th of April 2018, where a squadron of warplanes and helicopters alternates to bomb the area intensively by explosive barrels and raids, which targeted Al-Rastan city, a village in Talbiseh countryside, Al-Za’afaraneh and other areas in the same countryside, in conjunction with intensive rocket shelling by tens of shells and missiles believed to be ground-to-ground targeting the northern countryside, which resulted in the death of 2 citizens and the fall of a large number of wounded which may increase the number of casualties, raising to 4 citizens (3 women and a child), the number of people who were killed in aerial and rocket shelling on Al-Rastan and al-Ghasibiyah north of Homs since yesterday.
This intensive bombardment comes after bringing large military reinforcements to both northern countryside of Homs and southern countryside of Hama, where the SOHR monitored that the regime forces have sent large military reinforcements of members, material, weapons and armored vehicles to the area, preparing for carrying out a military operation in the area aims to end the presence of the factions in the area and regain the control of the area by the regime forces.
And the Syrian Observatory published yesterday morning that it monitored the ongoing aerial shelling on the northern countryside of Homs since after Saturday – Sunday midnight, where the warplanes carried out about 34 airstrikes on areas in Al-Makrmaia, Deir Al-Fol, Al-Zaafrana, Ezz Al-Din, Al-Humayrat, and places near Homs – Salmiya road, in conjunction with artillery and rocket shelling by the regime forces on areas in the northern countryside of Homs. The regime’s helicopters also dropped barrel bombs on areas in Al-Zaafrana town in the same countryside, killing a man guard working in Al-Zaafrana hospital. The shelling also left several people injured, and the SOHR monitored that several warplanes flying consecutively targeting every once and while areas in the countryside of Homs.
