Al-Bab City Witnesses Congestion And Resentment Against The Backdrop Of The Turkish Forces’ Assault And Shooting Protesters And Due To The Actions Of The Group Of Hamzah Division
Aleppo Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of congestion among the people in al-Bab city in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, in conjunction with widespread resentment by the citizens inside the city against the backdrop of what took place in two hospitals within the city, and from shooting by soldiers of the Turkish Forces inside the city, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the arrival of soldier carrier carrying members of the Turkish Forces in full field dress, and when they raised their weapons in the faces of the citizens who were gathered protesting against the actions of a group of al-Hamzah Division; the citizens demanded them to get their weapons down saying, “get your weapons down, get your weapons down, we are in our country, we are in Syria our land”, which pushed members of Turkish Forces to shoot in order to disperse the people, and they also beat up one of the activist who filmed their arrival inside the city.
The Syrian Observatory was published about 24 hours ago that Al-Bab city which is controlled by the rebel and Islamic factions of the “Euphrates Shield” Operation supported by Turkey, is witnessing close of roads and civil protests in response to fighters’ assault in the city in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, and in details Obtained by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: a group called “al-Yaba”, which is one of the groups that belongs to al-Hamzah Brigade working in area, entered al-Hekma and al-Salam Hospitals in al-Bab city, and they took a nurse from al-Salam hospital, they also assaulted staff members and insulted some of them by cursing them, which prompted al-Salam hospital to stop working, where the city is witnessing protests by tens of citizens in the city in response to the actions of the factions in the city, where the protesters set fire to the roads and closed them, demanding the factions to get their hands off the city and holding accountable those who assaulted both hospitals, where al-Hamzah Division “dismissed the group and brought them to court to be hold accountable”.
The Syrian Observatory published on the 11th April 2018 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored continuation of the protests by the residents in Al-Bab city in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo, in order to pressure the Turkish forces and the factions of the “Euphrates Shield” Operation, to allow the second convoy of Douma displaced people to enter the controlled areas of the Turkish forces and their allied factions in the area, where the protesters arranged sit-ins and demonstrations in Al-Bab city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published in May 2017 that resentment is escalating in al-Bab city in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, by the families who used to live in Jabal al-Sheikh Aqeel at the outskirts of the city, due to the takeover of the Turkish forces for homes belong to more than 450 families used to live in Jabal al-Sheikh Aqeel, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained a copy of a video showing a demonstration that took place on Friday the 26th of May 2017, which brought together tens of people of Jabal al-Sheikh Aqeel in al-Bab city, in which the civilians demanded “their rights in Jabal al-Sheikh Aqeel”, and an elderly man appeared in the video asserting that houses and dwellings on Jabal al-Sheikh Aqeel “were not demolished by shelling but were bulldozed by Turkish bulldozers after the exit of Daesh and that there are pictures prove it”, he also said: “We came out to demand our rights from what the criminal Turkish Army did, from demolishing our homes with its foundations and our documents, and if it has no past then we have a past, and it demolished our past, and we the sons of Jabal Aqeel, the sons of the free people, we bow only to Allah, and we will continue to peacefully claim until our rights and our children’s rights are fully secured after we have been displaced”
Also, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was informed by local sources that a demonstration took place on Friday the 19th of May 2017 at the outskirts Sheikh Aqeel area in al-Bab city which is controlled by the Turkish Force and the rebel and Islamic factions of the “Euphrates Shield”, the demonstration included tens of citizens who raised banners and slogans and shouted against “Erdogan’s Army” and confirming that the “land of the mountain is theirs”.
The local sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the demonstration took place near the Turkish forces who are positioned on al-Sheikh Aqeel mountain, it is the same mountain which surroundings witnessed the first defeat for the Turkish forces on the 21st if December 2016, where the Syrian Observatory was informed by residents of the city that the demonstration came after destroying most of what is left of houses and dwellings on the mountain by the Turkish forces in al-Sheikh Aqeel Mountain which is overlooking al-Bab city in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, where the Turkish forces demolished them and positioned their forces on this mountain, which provoked the wrath and resentment of the city’s people and the citizens who were living in the houses that were built on the mountain before the start of the clashes of al-Bab, and the people accused the Turkish forces of demolishing hundreds of houses and its contents, and not allowing the residents to approach even the ruins of their homes.
