Warplanes and The Regime Forces Target the Southern Sector of The Capital Damascus in Conjunction with Controlling Areas by The Regime Forces

Damascus Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the explosions are still shaking the capital Damascus since the morning of Tuesday, the 8th of May 2018, as a result of the continuous military operations between the regime forces supported by the gunmen loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the southern section of the capital Damascus, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of violent clashes between both parties, amid exchange of targeting by both parties, also the Syrian Observatory learned the that the regime forces with their allies managed to control more buildings and sites at the outskirts of Yarmouk Camp and in al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, and they are trying to control more areas to confine the organization in the narrowest possible enclave, and force it to return to the previous agreement between the organization and representatives of the regime.

Also, areas in al-Hajar al-Aswad, Yarmouk Camp and al-Tadamon in the southern section of the capital Damascus, are witnessing artillery and rocket shelling by the regime forces, in conjunction with raids carried out by warplanes on the same places, which are controlled by the “Islamic State” organization, and information about casualties in the ranks of both parties, where the Syrian Observatory published yesterday, Monday, that it monitored in less than 72 hours large number of casualties in the ranks of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, as well as the “Islamic State” organization, where SOHR documented the killing of are least 42 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them od Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, as well as 29 members at least of the “Islamic State” organization, raising to 162 at least, the number of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who have been killed since Thursday the 19th of April 2018, including 20 officers and 6 of them were executed, while it has increased to 131, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling, clashes and targeting that left tens of wounded in the ranks of the both parties, and the death toll is expected to rise because of the continued combat operations and the presence of injured cases in critical situation.
