The death toll in the ranks of the regime and its allies and the organization escalates in the south of Damascus to more than 300 casualties in 20 days

Damascus Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the regime’s military operations are continuing in the south of Damascus, along with the continuation of increasing the number of casualties in the ranks of the both parties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored shelling by the regime forces on ISIS controlled areas in Al-Hajar al-Aswad and Al-Tadamon neighborhoods and Yarmouk Camp in the south of Damascus, amid ongoing violent clashes between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the southern part of the capital Damascus, in conjunction with raids carried out by warplanes on areas in Al-Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp, which caused further material damage to the property of the citizens and to the infrastructure in the area, also the contact lines between the both parties are witnessing exchange of targeting between the regime forces and their allies against the organization, in conjunction with control by the regime forces on more positions and buildings.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the organization executed more members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, where it has increased to 9, the number of members of the regime forces who have been executed by the organization, since the start of the military operations in the south of Damascus, after it eliminated 3 members by machineguns after capturing them, raising to 168 at least, the number of members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed since Thursday the 19th of April 2018, including 20 officers and 6 of them were executed, while it has increased to 134, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the same period as a result of the shelling, clashes and targeting that left tens of wounded in the ranks of the both parties, and the death toll is expected to rise because of the continued combat operations and the presence of injured cases in critical situation.
