After the assassination of about 120 civilians and fighters in more than a month, alert situation prevails major cities of Idlib province, as a result of a security operation of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham against sleeper cells

Idlib city, the towns of Sarmada, al-Dana, Salqin and Jesr al-Shughur city are witnessing security alert by members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, accompanied by disconnecting the Internet from some of the neighborhoods of the areas, intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the above-mentioned areas are undergoing operations by the security office at Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, searching for the cells responsible for the past bombings and targeting and to capture them, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published this morning that the security chaos continues in Idlib province as well as the murders and murder attempts, either through the bullets of unknown gunmen or through IEDs, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the death of 3 people at least as a result of crossfire between them and between members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, after chasing their car by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and killing them because of being suspected, also the clashes took place between local gunmen of Jabal Shashabo area against unknown gunmen, where the clashes took place against the backdrop of attempting to plant IEDs by the unknown gunmen in al-Faqea’ area in the southern countryside of Idlib, while an explosive device exploded near Ya’qubiyah village in the western countryside of Idlib, also another one exploded in Maarrat al-Nu’man city, but no information about casualties, and in the same context, Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham imposed a curfew in al-Dana town in the northern countryside of Idlib from dawn until noon, amid raids and arrests carried out by members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in search of sleeper cells of the “Islamic State “organization in the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published last night that the province of Idlib witnesses continued daily assassinations, where the Syrian Observatory monitored today evening, Sunday the 27th of May 2018, the death of an Uzbek fighter who was killed after being shot by unidentified gunmen, and in the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory; unidentified gunmen in a car had stopped the Uzbek fighter and get him off his motorbike and shot him near Shuaib Mosque in Idlib city then they escaped, while 2 factions’ fighters were injured with varying severity, as a result of a landmine explosion in their vehicle on Sarmin – Nayrab Road north of Idlib, and the SOHR published few hours ago, that the city of Salqin in the northern sector of Idlib countryside, witnesses arrests carried out by the Ministry of Interior of the “National Rescue Government”, where 3 young men and a man were arrested and taken to one of the Ministry of Interior’ headquarters in the area, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the 3 young men were arrested on charge of publicly breaking the fast during Ramadan, while the man was arrested on charge of “insulting ALLAH”, and these arrests are coincided with the state of tension prevailing the city, as a result of shooting an Asian commander, believed to be of Azerbaijani nationality, and sources accused Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham of shooting him on charge of leading sleeper cells for the “Islamic State” organization.

And this act comes with the escalated assassinations which started on the 26th of April 2018, where the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that it documented more assassinations, raising to 119 people at least, they are 31 civilians including 6 children and a woman, who were assassinated through bomb explosions, IED detonations, shooting, abduction, murder and then throwing the bodies in remote areas, and 75 fighters of Syrian nationality belong to Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, al-Sham Corps, the Islamic Movement of Ahrar al-Sham, Jaysh al-Izza, and other factions operating in Idlib, and 13 fighters of Uzbek, Asian, and Caucasian nationalities were assassinated in the same ways during the past month, also the assassination attempts have injured tens of people with varying severity, while the factions stepped up their raids and operations against sleeper cells they accused of belonging to the “Islamic State” organization.
